He's kinda a 'glass half empty' sorta guy.....except he believes his cracked glass is better than everyone else's glass.

Also, he claims he was once a champion glass blower until he was knifed because of covid19, makes millions each year buying and selling glass, and if he bets you his glass and loses, he won't give you his glass.

Should have added a picture of somebody sucking not blowing

i do not think they are competing for the same role, if anything, they could be complimentary

obviously not in the ruck the same time or other parts of the ground next to each other.

really they would be two ships in the night never seeing each other unless one kicks to another if in the same team. Ideally they would space each other away from each other at least a kick away

obviously both CDT Sims could not play in the ruck the same time, could not play in the forward line the same time, could not play in the backline the same time.

is it a Grundy/Gawn problem?? not necessarily because each has other roles so I think they can be effecitve at the same time but in different positions becuase each is more versatile and mobile than Gawn and Grundy

it probably would not happen but say CDT comes to Richmond. What do you do??

well CDT would have to develop for a bit and Nank is still playing. Sims seems more forward. so CDT would be naturally positioned more back defensively intially and players like Balta could go forward and possibly pinch hit ruck after the likes of Nank retire etc..

this might seem crazy to some, but I would look at a Faull FB position, see how that goes, Smillie half back, along with others and CDT plus one in defence and see how that develops with his pace, reach and ground ball.

it allows us to shift Gibcus forward at times, Balta elsewhere and see what happens, cause these players do not lack versatility, they are not sheep. it would be easier with a 5 person bench I suppose.

Assuming we only have CDT and Sims as recognised rucks in the team, when one was one the bench the others could be roaming around and guys like Balta pinch hit at times
Why not play them in the ruck at the same time? 2 vs 1 we'd have the ruck tap out advantage. Could even look at this set up. images.jpeg

cause I am trying to be serious founded on proper rationale and you are trying to be funny.

the argument CDT could be an handy defender is the same argument Caleb Daniel is not

I can’t believe we death rode #l#lolNorf all year for Xavier Taylor

Disappointed Come On GIF

Who is trading this year for the eagles ?
Has Matty Clarke been allowed to go back in or is the bloke on Bigfooty Phil still running their list management

We have got a few medium and tall defenders but I think we lack some players with desperation, at least in the under 26's. Vlastuin, Rance, Grimes, Broad were/are all desperate defenders. Brown is a talented player but isn't yet desperate maybe the lack of a tank is a contributing factor, he loses 43% of his defensive 1 on 1 contests but makes up for it with his intercept work , Gibcus talented but not desperate, Balta can sometimes be desperate if he is prodded, It was only Trainors first season and he predominately played on the wing but he had 37% defensive 1 on 1 loss rate coupled with low intercept numbers.

Given how important defenses are to winning premierships and with the doubling down of the stand rule making it harder to play zone defense, if teams are forced to defender in more 1 on 1 structures, I can see the Iterest in Taylor. Especially if he can also be an interceptor which is an increasingly valuable asset for winning teams

Is that the same guy that kicked Clarke out of the room to do the negotiations ?
How did he die. Does that mean Clarke has his job back

Sad

I've got some inside info but I have to put it into code of sorts as it's sensitive.

Ahem.....the bird (wink), is perched on the 'deck' (wink wink).

Also, like a rolling stone, he wants the red door painted black.
Ok, its either Lachie Dovaston or Pigeon Pirate?

Says heart attack mate.

I just remember some of their board turning on him when all he tried to was give some inside news about draft night.

ran into blair at the pub last night, he'd come from a private function and was clearly pretty sozzled already when he arrived. took a seat at the bar next to me and ordered a schooner of jack daniels straight. I was half cut as well and plucked up the courage to lean over and ask him who the tigers will take this year. he looked straight through me and said 'josh smiley'.
I laughed politely then gave him a puzzled look. he said 'check your phone'. I pulled my nokia out and saw I had a missed call from j smiley. I turned to ask him what that meant but he was gone.

Would love to know what red door painted black means ... how many hours ago did you post that ???

Still got NFI

rolling stone = mick jagger
red & Black = bombers

Jagga smith going to the bombers?

For those who know (and everyone else who thinks they do) how does our young Tom Sims stack up against CDT?

Just thinking about Sims as legit cover for our ruck going forward.

No expert, but:
Last year Sims was talked about as a ruck forward. Great leap, good athlete, good hands. So, at his hight likely B grade ruck and good to very good KPF.
CDT is really fast, i.e. faster than Grilj fast, good skills and a good ruck and KPF. So he could easily become at least a B grade ruck, B grade enormous mid, and B grade KPF. Almost a unique set of traits in an AFL ruck - very unusual at least.

Basically CDT has more strings to his bow and higher ceiling, but in many ways similar.
