Has it been reported or just speculation that clubs see him transitioning from HB to mid in a similar vein to Dawson at the crows.

My take is it's Tiger supporters talking about how he can be converted into a mid. I've only seen it discussed in this thread.

Sure he has potential to go mid later maybe but there are elite mids available at our pick so I don’t see how Xavier Taylor is an obvious pick for us???

Read just about all his takes this post season and the guy is just throwing random thoughts for click bait.

There are possibly no elite mids, so we are gunna take an intercepting defender in Taylor (who is ranked equal to or worse than the so called non-elite mids) and turn him into an elite mid. Maybe. As insurance. Because we don't need another intercepting defender like Trainor, Brown or Gibcus.

I knew before going into the pod he doesn’t really watch outside big games and mostly comes from recruiters intel.

But geez he said some weird things in this pod. Oskar Taylor is a lock down defender, Robey can’t mark overhead, Annable is a classy kick, marsh plays in a similar aggressive fashion to Pat Voss.

But he has us getting XT and Robey, which suits me.

We draft Taylor as a lockdown/intercepting defender to fill the void left by Vlas and Broad. Not that hard to understand the logic there. We don't have good replacements for them yet.

But I think that’s why Trainor ended up on a wing? Broad/Short/Banks/Brown have all never really played the wing well.

Rather put Broad there in his last/2nd last season. Can shift back in case of emergency.

Yuck. Be better off making Trainor and/or XT bide their time in the VFL. Broad is on record that 2026 is his last year. Plus there will always be opportunity through injury....
