I brought Macrae in last week, was hard work as he scrapped his way to 90. Don't think he's must have by any means. I'd expect Libba/Serong to outscore him rest of year. He is a forward though, my reason for bringing him in. Libba just played, so not sure if you went there.

Mitchell out, so can't go there. Hadn't given O'Driscoll any thought, he's pretty consistent, as long as he stays fit. A bit has been made of Meek's run after this week, but he's pretty good I reckon.

In short, I'd go Meek/Serong, but take it with a grain of salt, I usually balls these things up.

I have money in hand and a boost. Have gone Rowston, Martin & Xerri to Harvey (on field), Grundy & Gulden. Sounds good, but leaves me no money. Steele would leave me with 80K, which could be handy. I fully expect paying full price for two Sydney players to bite me hard.
I'd gone Grundy/Noddy, with Grundy as captain till an hour before the Hawthorn game when I changed it to Meek/Serong. 84 from Meek was well below expectation and I was cursing myself watching Grundy completely dominate and he looked certain to get to 150 when sitting on 87 at half time. I was thankful that Ladhams came on at 3/4 time and took the ruckwork for that quarter minimising the damage. Didn't help you of course. Very surprising to see Gulden have only one disposal in the last for a disappointing 86.
My year has gone to shit. Every week, I start with a predicted score being one of the highest in our league yet as each day goes by, that predicted score drops and drops and drops. Started this week as 2330 and is now 2184. Meek, Butters, Cerra, Petracca and Hewitt have effed my week already. I'm losing heavily to the 15th and 17th placed opponents in my cash leagues even though I'm currently 2nd and 1st respectively. Every decision I've made in the past month has turned to shit.

The way things are going in DT lately, I'm starting to lose interest in it as well. :(
At least your not a North supporter! Though it's only my love of North Melbourne that keeps me engaged. Otherwise I wouldn't bother with it. Have very little interest in the game as a spectacle any more.

As for DT, it's only my hope of finally winning my cash league that's keeping me going. My team looks ok on paper, but it's a hard watch each week.

Who knows though, next week everything will be reversed. Very little consistency among most players. Didn't watch, but Petracca & Cerra must have been hopeless tonight.

And I VC Gulden over Grundy. That's on me, but he went 150 against us last year. Was only listening on the wireless, assume Gulden didn't bother trying in the last as the game was over. Either that or Heeney was hogging everything.

I have five trades, but no money. Can see me finishing my team with McCarthy & Jack Martin still on field. Brought Harvey in for cash generation, that failed too. Rozee better be back next week.

I'm still forecast to score 2300, but I'm a Bailey Smith late out away from 2150. If I have to include Harvey's 23 I'll be screwed in my cash league match up also.

Anyway, hope Serong pulls through for you tomorrow. He should be ok against the pies. Without wanting to jinx it, they don't usually tag.

rd19: 2062pts (top 45%) :(
overall: 2,265th (top 30%)
trades: 5

Daicos + Dunkley = :thumbsu:
Clarke (replacing Rozee) + Macrae + Smith(c) + TDK + Harvey(FLX) =
not owning NWM = :cryv1:

TDK is a massive problem now... (ave65 from last 5 games)... he needs to be traded because he's not playing ruck !!
i've got enough money for Jackson (1 trade)... and i think this is the most logical choice
my other concern is that i don't have a strong FLX player (currently 1 of May/Harvey/Butler)
MartinJ and McCarthy are still in my starting lineup... so hopefully they hold up
Oliver needs to lift !!
NWM must be stopped !!
don't think i'll be captaining Smith again either... Daicos(c) Bont(vc) i reckon

went Smith(c) instead of Daicos :cryv1:

don't own NWM either :(
There were plenty who did, so don't be too hard on yourself. My captain's choice was probably the only thing that went ok, if not great, for me on the weekend. I also had it on Smith until half hour before the bounce when I changed to Holmes.
Not owning Naz will cintinue to hurt you.

TDK is a real issue and I think he will continue to struggle. I would definitely get rid of him and if Jackson is your only option, so be it. It has surprised me this year that so many coaches seem to treat the flex position differently than the other 22 and have absolute rookies taking that spot. The flex is just as important a spot than any other and should be treated as such.

Having Jack Martin as your F6 is not a bad thing and it would be even better if he didn't spend half the game sitting on the bench. He was on the bench for the first 5 minutes then when he came on he was killing it but then got dragged for the last 7 minutes of it. Second quarter starts and he spends the first 10 minutes of that also on the bench. Spent huge parts of third and fourth also there. Must have a very small tank. What did you finish with last week. I had a disastrous 2162 and lost every league match up. Rather embarrassing when you are on top of the ladder and lose to someone who is ranked 17th.
It's annoying this week that 95% of the VC options all play after my non players have already been used. It's too late for Serong, Brayshaw, Holmes, Smith. Dawson, Butters, Daicos and NWM. My only real VC option is Merrett but I don't think he will score anywhere near as much as some of those I just mentioned.

Finished with 2267 this week. About 200 points more than the two weeks prior. So improvement at least.

You don't have Harry Boyd on the bench? I also have Cooper Simpson, so likely Grundy or Dunkley into Daicos.

My last five captain scores are 88, 58, 94, 137 & 23 (two of those were players subbed off). So picking VC/C not my strong point.

I do have a problem though, if no injuries, Martin forward & McCarthy flex are my two strongest rookies on field. However, I can't get McCarthy into my flex position, currently held by Harvey. Need to trade Butler to a M/F (Hotton from Rich perhaps), so I can swing McCarthy to flex. Not sure I want to use a trade for that though. Fair to say McCarthy outscoring Harvey (and most of my forwards) most weeks though.

At least Serong went alright for you. I'd happily trade Cerra to Serong if I could. He's a bit of a weak link for me.

I certainly wouldn't be using a valuable trade simply to get McCarthy to the flex. Unless of course you had 6-7 trades left, which I doubt.
In relation to my use of vc/C this week, I only have 3 red dots. Two of them play Thursday and the other plays Saturday arvo. Unfortunately, the only possible vc options I have prior to that is Merrett and T Green.
Let me know who you choose as C so I can go someone else. 😋.

Don't you have Sam Darcy? I'd chuck the VC on him I think ahead of the two you mentioned. If Grundy/Dunkley/Smith (haven't made my mind up yet) goes under 115, I'll be captaining Daicos. You've been warned.

I won't be trading this week. Have five left, but absolutely no money. Will wait and see if there's any carnage this weekend. If not, try and do an upgrade somehow next week.

depending on INS & OUTS
Clarke -> Jepson
May -> Dale

new squad:
DEF - Rozee, Zorko, Sheezel, Whitfield, Sinclair, Dale, [Jepson, Leake]
MID - Dawson, Daicos, Brayshaw, Bont, Dunkley, Merrett, Anderson, Oliver, [Jackson, Boxshall, Stevens]
RUC - Gawn, TDK, [Boyd]
FWD - Smith, Kennedy, Macrae, Petracca, Daniel, MartinJ, [Butler, Harvey]
FLX - McCarthy
(3 trades + 115k leftover)

  • can't have May(FLX) so i've decided to upgrade my biggest weakness
  • this means TDK is stuck in the team
  • in theory, i could do TDK -> Nank... but that would mean blowing the salary cap
  • also, i'd be down to 2 trades... not enough for the run home IMO
  • hopefully MartinJ/McCarthy/TDK/Oliver hold up

This is like looking in the mirror Weels!

Still holding Martin here as I play last place and I'm on top.

Bloody tempted to swing him out for NWM via Flex though!

A double trade could get me Merrett/Martin out for NWM and Jack Steele. Would leaves me with 4 trades and Xerri to fix for week 1 of the finals.

You're in a great position with 6 trades left. I'd do the Martin to NWM trade if I was you. Might be inclined to hold Merrett though and save that trade, knowing I was getting rid of Xerri next week. Though bringing in Steele is mighty appealing.

* I take no responsibility if you hold Merrett and he gets a fifty.....haha.

I have 5 trades left, but have Cooper Harvey in flex, and Jack Martin on field. And no money. Gonna ride it out this week, and if no problems, try and do something next week.

The rest of the top 8 has NWM and with his run home I don't think I could handle not having him 😆

Picking Gulden over Bont going to be one of those season defining decisions I can see.

Was only listening the game, so don't know what happened exactly , but he hurt himself in the last 10 minutes or so. Was proppy apparently, so would have to be in doubt for next week.

He could also be alright and play next week and all will be well. Will have to see. Really hope so, should score well against Essendon even on one leg.

Luckily I have a few trades left. Will need two to get up to someone like Bont from Gulden now. Last week Bont was 80K cheaper than Gulden. At end of this round he'll be about 150K dearer.....geezus.

My reliance on Jack Martin & Tom McCarthy increases every week, as I'm not sure I'm going to get them upgraded.

Had the VC on Merrett but wasn't going to take his 119. Had the C on Smith until a minute before the start of game as my league opponent had Daicos as captain hence I changed it to Daicos.
Ended up having a wonderful Sunday which is most unusual. Daicos 292, NWM 147, Gawn 123 and Petracca 84.
Finished with 2373 which is still 130 below one of our other finalists.
What's the story with Martin. Spent the second half of the third and all of the last on the bench yet he's not listed as injured. He wasn't subbed out as Danger was.

I assume Martin was given a rest, given the scoreline, but it's a bit of a worry heading into finials. Have he and Gulden to worry about injury/rest wise.

I was out this afternoon, and missed the start of the St Kilda vs Melb game. Hadn't swapped Gawn with Boyd to get Grundy's VC score. Ended up with Gawn as captain. Lucky it didn't end too badly.

2350 I ended with. Very even match in my cash league coming up this week. Will have to be more vigilant.

My fantasy team this week scored 2566, and I don't spend anywhere near as much time with that as I do RDT. Maybe that's the secret.

rd20: 2362pts (top 19%)
overall: 2,183rd (top 29%)
trades: 3

Sinclair + Smith + Gawn + Bont(c) + Daicos = :thumbsu:
Zorko + Dale + Daniel + Martin + TDK =
not owning NWM = :cryv1:
missing out on finals because of percentage =

seriously thinking of using 2 trades to upgrade Martin(F6) -> Warner
TDK(R2) will have to see out the season... cmon man, lift !!
NWM is doing so much damage, it's not funny... he must be stopped !!
Daicos(c)/Bont(vc) is the way to go :)

2495 for me last week. Was nice looping Darcy in off the bench early in the round.

Week 1 of finals lads and ladies. Good luck to all still in the hunt overall and in leagues.

I'm still holding Xerri and 4 trades. Will need to use 2 to get Grundy. The rest of the top 8 have him, so seems a no brainer given his run home.

Left field option, if Rozee is out I can punt him, swing Sheez back and bring Grundy in to Flex. Keeping the Xerri bomb ripe to return for the last 3 games.
