neyland vs yerbury will be interesting to watch in years to come to see if they prioritised the right player

they also probs should have just upgraded their second round pick in trade week so they could match both

GWS are really ramping up the spice between us. I hope we get to return serve. But sensibly, it would probably be better if we left each other alone a bit. Anyway, I don't think it was a spiteful bid. Clearly they rate Kiera and I daresay they expected us not to match the bid because they know we want (and need) Neyland.

It's not only a question of talent. We need quality talls. Desperately.

I don't think we could have upgraded our 2nd rounder. We had already traded out our 2026 first and couldn't trade out our 2026 2nd and a couple of 3rds wouldn't get it done. Plus we'll need our 2026 2nd for other things.

Awesome that Yerbury and Neyland got bid on ahead of the likes of Usher and Baron, they must be stoked. Big kudos for our Academy too. Generally Queensland women and girls footy is well advanced over NSW so it's excellent to see us closing the gap. (Of course, if we had stocked up picks to match bids like the Suns have maybe the bidding would have been in a different order, we may never know.)

I think that's good for us, we'll now be able to use our next pick to match any bid on Madeleine Quinn. If it was going to happen, that was when she might have received a bid too early for us to match.
