Opinion 2025 - changing of the guard activities

It’s round 11, we’re 9 and 2 and sitting on top of the ladder, 2 games and percentage inside the top 4.

Our 2025 Premiership season campaign is progressing nicely.

But in amongst all of our efforts to qualify, we are also managing to get in a few ‘changing of the guard’ activities to take us from the oldest team in the comp as the media keeps banging on about, to setting up our future.

And we continue on our current track and qualify quickly, maybe we expect to see even more signs in the back end of the season?

To date we have:

• The emergence of Ned Long, the youngest player on our teamsheets most weeks has been tearing it up.
• Beau McCreery’s move to spending some time in the midfield and doing well.
• Billy Frampton developing more of his game and becoming more viable at selection.

Ed Allan taking over Lipinski - seems to be playing some wing time.

I think West will also be in our best team by year end.

Despite his slow start last night, Ed has been better in that role the past 2-3 weeks than Lippa IMO
