Can we go 3-0 leading into Opening Round? The Swans looked pretty good yesterday against the Giants. Amartey and Campbell in particular looked like a handful with 10 goals being kicked by the duo. Our backline will need to be on if we're going to secure another victory in this preseason. We know Sydney's midfield is their real strong point so it'll be a really interesting battle to see our mids go up against theirs. Also can't wait to see Rioli finally play his first game for us!

Here is the highlights video of the Swans from yesterday if anyone wants to get an idea of what we're potentially coming up against:

With walter unavailable opening round wonder if we will see something different up forward trialled in this one. Mac forward? Moyle or maybe even a smaller set-up. Hopefully the guys who didn't play last week can get some game time and remain healthy leading into Rd 0.

Whilst in the grand scheme of things sports is all about winning every game you play, in this kind of scenario I echo the above posters:

More about getting the guys some more work against a solid team, see again who works well with whom, and no injuries.

Result is in essence, irrelevant.

Sydney have fielded a weak side, hopefully we do the same, I wanna see the Jepsons of the world have a nice crack

With the amount of injuries piling up around the league, I wouldn’t have minded putting our guys on ice. But I guess they would’ve only had half a hit out before an Essendon team that looks primed to play their best footy to start the year (aka the Suns of 2011-current).

GAME DAY!

Rioli's first game for our club. I'm sure we're all going to feel an enormous amount of optimism if he has a good game tonight.

Interesting to see Gulbin made the team again. He must genuinely be in the running for an AFL debut in opening round.

Let's see how Read and King go together without Walter. That is going to be our opening round key forward combo so fingers crossed they perform against the Swans tonight.

Rioli Noble Weller Budarick, all interchanging will be nice to see.

Let’s see what Gulbin can do, showed good signs last week.

No doubt. We've got some serious speed now and that really suits Hardwick's game plan.

We know Dimma likes to push the academy guys when he has the chance to do so and it looks like he's taken a fancy to Gulbin. I've got a feeling Dimma may have an eye on the future with this one considering Gulbin grew up playing with Uwland and Addinsall at Burleigh and they all went to the same school. So there would obviously be an existing connection/cohesion with those three and Dimma has certainly already used a similar situation to great effect with the Palmy boys Walter, Read and Graham.

Dimma has said he wants to play his next premiership players the earlier the better.

1 afl game is worth 10 vfl games,

If dimma likes em they are in. Good on Gulbin, hopefully takes his chance.

Gonna be tough for Dimma and our list manager to decide which academy products to let go for sure

Swans are missing a heap of star players but still fielding a strong side. We should beat them comfortably but the more important thing is no injuries or suspensions please.
A 1000% this. Of course it is nice to win these kinds of games, but more about getting the guys some work in and coming out of it injury free in preparation for the regular season.

Do think we will win also mind if we come focused.

Surprised they didn’t give Moyle a run even if just to lessen the burden on Wittsy for a quarter or two.

The most important question!

Do we unveil our new Red on Red guernseys :fire:[emoji7]

Nope. Reckon it will be the same training top from last week.
