FWIW, I have it on good authority we have approached Finbar Marley’s management about next season.
Hmm what are we trying to turn him into? A forward, an interceptor, a wingman?

The answer will gauge my enthusiasm. I like the idea of trying to convert him into that loose defender who negates the best marking forward but he’s gotta improve his kicking game otherwise those marks are worthless.

We really have an attraction to players who can’t kick a set shot to save their life.

It might mean that Buller is gone and we are finding a replacement. He would even keep his old number.
The idea of trading is to improve the list :$

Funny thing is the one and only time i've noticed this guy was when he had a set shot with a minute to go to win the game and he got called play on for running down the shot clock.
It was on debut I think as well.

Don’t blame Ladhams for looking around . Yea he’s up against Grundy but he didn’t deserve to be dropped after the Geelong game
Can see Ladhams becoming one of those ruckman who goes through majority of their career as a mercenary only to then become a very dedicated and serviceable ruckman in the back end at a club who desperately needs one. Hickey style.

Grundy has realistically 2 years of his best left, by then you'd bloody hope Green is ready - so not fussed with cutting Ladhams loose for his own sake. Just becomes a matter of who covers Grundy if he's not available. Maybe a reason to just stick with Mclean.

Wasnt Buller super accurate then came here and then his set shots being terrible?

Somehow a lot of good kicks get worse with us

Maybe if we get a shit kick they might turn good

He still has a long way to go, and I'm not too confident he will make it.

There's been nothing yet over his first two years that gives you the thought of "okay, he can be an AFL-level player". If anything, you notice his lack of competitveness and tenacity above anything else.

Nope. His 2nd half of the season this year showed a marked improvement. If this is linear then we will have a very good ruck in 2 years time.

Carlton have backed Voss in

I can see Curnow definitely leaving regardless of what’s said about keeping him etc

That relationship looks shithouse , saying he is willing to take pay cuts etc. Hard to mend

No idea why you would want to keep a player like that tho.

Papley and going way back Rok both wanted out but never looked desperate to get the heck out of the club.

If we had traded for the North pick last year, the Curnow deal would be pretty straight forward.

Perhaps we should move pick 9 this year into next year's draft if we think it is weak.
