Anyone considering Hobbs from the Bombers?

Looks to have put on a bit muscle and impressed against the Cats.

Feel like he could represent decent value with Parish out, but there are a lot of good, cheap options in the FWD line
Garcia slightly cheaper and will get more CBAs

Yep decent pick. Got some preseasons behind him

I feel like a bit of an idiot, why did everyone jump off Bailey Smith?

He was a first picked player for me, was supposed to be fine to play this week, and he's definitely playing next week. Is it just because he had a scare with his knee?

Without factoring in any potential DPP additions, are these blokes the likely top 6?

There's always a KFP that goes bang, but I can't see any significant jumps from other forwards.

Pretty uninspiring stuff.
Just a throw at the stumps

Sam Darcy to give the top 6 a shake imo in his 4th season & think will impact more games
I compare to Buddy Franklin who went 107 ave in his 4th year (22 games) & 3 of the following 4 seasons at 107+

Also rate Josh Treacy as another possibility (5th year)

& factoring in potential DPP additions could include Petracca & or Sicily as possible top 6ers

Still locked in

What's everyone's thoughts on Baker? Maybe a POD type pick that can be the main man at Eagles of some sort and push his average up over 90 at least? Could he be a top-10 forward?

Can't jump off him if you were never on him.

I just don't think he's gonna be the 95-100 guy that most are hoping.

His best SC average was where he averaged 30 touches a game and he went at 98.

Last year, Geelong had zero players go above 100. They're not gonna be a side which is conducive to massive premo options, outside of Holmes and Stewart who they love feeding the ball through.

His role is gonna be HFF/inside mid/wing and he'll have some games where he goes 100+ but for the most part, I would be surprised if he is playing exclusively inside where his ability to score would be most beneficial.

Take last week for example - he was rested after hurting his knee doing yoga. They will take a very cautious approach with him. And data suggests, it takes 18-24 months post ACL before you see an athlete begin to perform at pre-ACL level. I think he starts the year slowish, finds his groove and may hit the ground running post bye.

For a guy most are picking to 'make money', he's already priced at 390k so IMO (different from many), his ability to make money from this position is not as great as most will hope.

He's priced at 73, and I honestly don't see him putting even 15 points on his average in the first two months.

Maybe top 10, but imo he's just not that good a player. Suspect his scoring is all over the place.

His problem for years has been his versatility which has led to role changes that toast his SC scoring.

He's been promised stability at WC.

Liam is hardworking and courageous and I love watching him play.

That is all I have to say about Baker

Am I crazy for considering Wicks at 240k? He looked damn impressive the other night.

Not crazy at all. I won’t fit him in due to 1) bye 2) price over a rookie & 3) reckon his ceiling is limited due to Blakey & Roberts (even Florent & Lloyd at times) and he will take the lockdown defence roles BUT very unlikely he is a bad pick imo.

Pros are he looks solid, has good skills, and his floor is going to be better than a rookie.

Hey HT, what are your thoughts on Robert Hansen JR? Thought he 'had something' the other day in the praccy match, do you think he will get the gig on the wing?

Personally I can’t commit to a rookie NM small forward, but he has looked more competitive this preseason, and he’s a shoe in for round one.

Didn't he play on the wing in the second half after FOS moved to the backline? Thought he looked really good there.

He may rotate through there, but so will Scott, FOS and Tucker. He’s generally played as more of a link up forward flank guy.

Hell of a POD if you decide to go that way.

Hope your instinct is right and we have a player on our hands.

I'm still tempted by Sanders. Having Bont out for 6 weeks helps his case? Also, I think if he gets a bit of continuity, I don't see why he couldn't avg 85-90 somewhere. Last year he was a bit in and out of the side and had some sub affected scores, but if he is a mainstay in the 22 without the vest this season, he could show good value for $340k?

I'd rather trade to him then start him. Didn't pass the eye test in either game but what i did like was he racked up 26 disposals in the Essendon game and Essendon were trying harder then most teams.

Currently in my team.

Not 100% locked but looking likely.
