I've already stated why they're in the parade. Advertising, promotion.
And, who it will appeal to.
Same as AusKickers at half time even though nobody thinks they're the main event.

It's just a parade.

It's also a mandated holiday for Victoria.

The long and short of it though is this is a culmination of the mens competition for that home and away season to say "these are the two best teams of this season" hence the parade for the cup and those playing for it. For the women; it is the middle of round 7 of their season.

Your statement is essentially stating that the AFL is not marketing the women properly, or enough, for the middle of their season to have registered with people, given they have games either side of the grand final, and you equate this to Auskick being the start of both men & women. Really, since divergence doesn't happen until hormones are a thing (aka almost/teens) where instead perhaps the answer is women should also have auskickers at half time for equality and to show start to finish also?

Either way it's an odd hill to be caught up on as "just a parade", like do we not care about any of the season for it to culminate to celebrate anything? And I suppose woo randos in November in September I guess?

All we need is Darragh Joyce to be a late in for an ex Saint to win the GF. We’ll have a representative in each of the 4 teams 😂

Shocking non call that. In the back and his head hit the turf.
out of the game. Concussion. Just a free kick but not one of 4 paid a clear and obvious free. Last 2 games of the season and that is missed.

Misses a GF too if they win. Let's celebrate a pre finals bye though. Hurrah AFL.

Asking for a friend. Looking to buy 2026 reserved seats and wanting to know where's the best place to be for a combination of atmosphere and viewability. Tips?
We (10 of us) sit row C and D on third level.
Aisle 38 I think - mid-way between centre wing and the fifty arc.
Close to the cheer squad end.
Good seats - and out of the rain ( 🤣 )

PLEASE come and sit there - not enough reserved seat members so we’re often surrounded by the enemy.

The only thing good about it , is a team i hate will lose. But then the other one will be happy.
There’s just no pleasing you! 😉
(Cats the lesser of the two evils for me.)

Say goodbye to the pre finals bye if Geelong get up here and Stewart misses the grand final.
Don’t like the bye anyway.
Survival of the fittest.

If Chol gets a week, it's time to stop playing football.

And if Geelong win, I hope Tom Stewart does everything in his power to be allowed to play next week (if that's what he wants) including lawsuits. Nick Riewoldt spoke about what he would do if he was ruled out of the Grand Final with concussion.

Grand Final should be treated differently.
