I think he made it a while back but just doesn't want the backlash so he is holding off telling us, i know we have the best ITK's in the land ( or so they will tell us :tearsofjoy: ) but who in their right mind really thinks he is staying and if so why has it not been released ? There is no possible reason to hold back the info and surly if our club has been negotiating for as long as it appears we need some better people involved in these type of deals.

Its turned into

Unless he really didn’t make his decision or still hasn’t. If he had made his decision the manager would be getting to work behind the scenes to organise a trade because it won’t be something that gets done in two weeks

You seriously don't think he has made a decision , the way he looks when being interviewed , its Done
All there is to do is work out how far they bend us over

Let's be very clear about this, the Saints hold the upper hand in any negotiations with the SA clubs for Wanganeen-Milera.

Saints' demands can't be met and no trade eventuates, then NAS has no option but to put himself into the draft.

Yup. And then we get nothing. So we don’t have the upper hand, because it would be completely unacceptable for us to end up with nothing for our best player.

Haha he’ll still end up at Port if he goes to the draft - clubs don’t take players who don’t want to be there
They do if they’re in a rebuild they can net them significant assets at trade table in 12 months time.

They’re effectively buying draft/trade capital to go after Warner or Curtain.

Reality is, that if Nas wants to get home a trade has to be facilitated. There’s no team with cap space that would pass on the chance of having nas on their list. Everyone of the clubs before Port & Adelaide in the draft would back themselves in to turn him around and have him fall in love with their club.

Still can’t quite comprehend why people are saying this. It’s just so far from an option that it’s fantasy.

Club in rebuild (WCE) gets NAS for salary, 12 months of service at worst and 3 first rounders if he leaves.

And even so, as if Nas would take the chance he would go there.

So you’re saying Nas ends up at Port in a year anyway? Whereas if he signs a two year contract with us it takes longer? So why wouldn’t he sign with West Coast then?

Not a chance in hell he ends up in the draft , we end up with absolutely nothing then , glad your not the list manager

The laugh emojis on posts here have gone silent. I hope he is ok in this trying time.
he does disappear for long periods,i think his previous disappearance was for us negotiating a trade with him, trade out that avatar showing that hideous haircut for the right to keep honouring us with your emojis and presence on our board, dont know about this hiatus

Haha as I said in the other post - your argument is that he won’t go to WC because it would take him an extra year to get to Port? Whereas if he re-signs with us for two years it takes even longer. I don’t understand the logic of that.

Because he doesn’t want to play there? We will get a deal done at the trade table if required, but there’s no world where West Coast passes on him in the PSD

Nothing a team unifying power stance can't fix.

No need for the hostilities brother - he’s a well connected sponsor at the club.
And he also should be in politics as he loves having a bet each way , that post was not worth the time it took to type

Where does Port or Adelaide get three first rounders from? Because if they have that, wouldn’t they trade them to us for him in that situation, assuming he wants to leave?

Ok fair enough but i doubt the club are asking Vic for his opinion on Nas or giving him info
He was at Trevor Barker oval on the weekend for the event the St Neil posted about.
He has posted on X using his real name. What does a well connected sponsor have to gain by publicly sharing that ‘his mail’ is that Nas stays, if he is making it up?
The answer, a lot less than he stands to lose.

Of course we are, the denial is predictable it’s going to be a long trade period.

Bottom line is we hold nothing except a threat to send Nas to the draft. If we play that card just watch the AFlPA, the media and his manager play the culturally insensitive card. He’ll be painted as a young guy who’s out of contract and just wants to get home who’s being unfairly blocked by st Kilda, arguably true.

If he goes we’ll get the minimum the afl will sign off on. There’s already precedent for clubs getting unders because the only pick available is a late first for example. Very much doubt anyone but st Kilda supporters will think it reasonable to force Adelaide to come up with 2 top 5 picks. Also the player swap is so difficult, someone you want needs to want to come.

Adelaide won’t go sliding a list of stars across to us and saying take your pick. We’ll have the list and they’ll be saying no contracted, has no interest, required player.
