Now that our season is over, and news is starting to break - it's time for a fresh thread.

This thread is to discuss all things list management - trades, draft, free agency, delistings and more.
As we are now officially in our off-season, we'll be wanting to keep this thread more strictly on-topic than the previous iterations.

2025 KEY DATES
Free Agency Period: Friday, October 3rd - Friday, October 10th
Trade Period: Monday, October 6th - Wednesday, October 15th
AFL Draft: Wednesday, November 19th - Thursday, November 20th

anyway can we now assume that acres is for sure the former saint who wants to return?that was alluded to as far back as thread 2 maybe?

Acres is 30yo in Oct, is OOC so he wouldnt cost much trade wise. He would be better depth than Carroll if RTB can put up with his 2 or 3 clangers a game. Has always been an elite runner and might be a good backup for Mason Wood who I think is quickly nearing the end.

I watched Wood in quite a few games where he seemed out of legs by the middle of the last quarter, so maybe you're right.

If you watched the DDF stream last night, TDK mentioned Acres multiple times (including trying to convince Ross to get Acres back to St Kilda).

It seems like TDK and Acres are very close mates. It was also mentioned by Ross that Acres is very close to Marshall.

happy to say i can now watch the grand final,geelong vs collingwood ffs,please tell me what is the difference between those two?

question asked on page 1 or 2 who would you like from cats for marshall?as suggested we want a player not a pick,for me taking out all the non realistic ones i want SDK,

aside from being a good player,i think his signing would mean we dont have to look at another bog average ruck to take up a list spot

rather that than picking up one of clark stephens clohesy etc and some spud break glass in case of emergency ruck

we aint getting holmes sniff dempsey etc

just as happy to keep roma and let them pick up the bog average ruck as a first ruck,only downside is roma value diminishes going forward

If Marshall nominates Geelong and we are adamant we want players and not picks I think SDK stands out as the obvious one we’d target. Although if Marshall goes I’d still prefer to keep Heath. Keeler is still more of a forward at this stage and JSOS is no more a ruck than Owens.
Maybe if we get Acres back he can ruck (that’s a joke by the way).

Up to him. He will get a bump and an extension from the Saints but at 30 he will NEVER get 1.5 x 5 offer ever again. Can you blame him?
So his options are
1. Stay with the club that plucked him from the SANFL, get 1.1 mill a season and extension and the captaincy at a club that he reckons he loves
2. Go to a football club that is around the same spot as the Saints who really needs his type of back and is offering huge sheets. Doesn't know the players or culture and is changing clubs.

Anyway we dont have to offer him anything, we can say we will renegotiate your contract when it falls due in 2027, not give him a cent more or the captaincy. We dont have to do anything, but thats not how the club keeps players happy and content, but legally that is the situation.

Also the contract situation. Lets see if Bulldogs are a serious football team.

We made the right call with Membrey, when the pressure came on tonight, he shat himself in front of the big sticks.

Hopefully we can get Max King back next year to show him how it's done, probably shit himself instead of kick goals.

We need to recruit more forwards that can kick straight like Lockett and Sharman, Kosi was a pretty good kick as well.

I’ve seen alot of criticism of him for that pass. I don’t agree at all, it’s a smart option because in reality there’s no way for Starcevich to spoil without infringing it’s just a massive umpiring **** up.

Probably should have taken the shot himself but it’s not actually a terrible option.

What the puppies fail to realise that even if he did nominate them, that is the easiest part. Wilkie has been told that he will be traded only if it gets Saints its target in a trade. No draft picks, no scrappy but graders.
Are the Bulldogs a serious club? That is what they need to ask themselves.

I agree the chances of us prying out a starting 23 player after a GF are next to zero. Geelong may want Marshall but they won't sell out the list to get him.

Hope Wilkie is still a Saint a half an hour before close of Trade Period,and the Foxtel cameras are focused on Western Bulldogs List Management group,while ours have their feet up.
