Either way, Nas, just put us out of our misery!
I think supporters are genuinely getting sick of all the speculation.

In fairness to Nas, he can’t control the ongoing media speculation which is continuing to ramp up.

But surely he can make a decision soon. What more information does he need?

I’m over it. Stay or go. Just make a bloody decision.

If he goes it will be gut wrenching but we will survive and move on. I support the club and not individual players.

I now trust our talent identification and player development. We’ll be fine.

But if NAS goes we must be ruthless towards the other party and the player himself, even if we risk overplaying our hand. Business is business. He is our best player.

The thing is we don't have an industry where they announce they're leaving until the end of the season. He may have already decided to leave but we won't know.

Nas is gone

Hall won’t re-sign - comes from a Hok family and will join Battle

Max King won’t play again

Trav and Tauru are busts

TDK won’t deliver - 1.7 mil down the shit

We will never draft elite mids

No FA will come to us

I honestly think we should fold.

See you all in 2026
At last some sanity.

No I’m not at all, I’m suggesting what they could offer that wouldn’t be complete shit, because they do have some stuff.

They may not want to offer that, Bergman might be off the table but we can’t catagorically say that.

If those things aren’t options then yeh they don’t have a suitable offer but it’s folly to suggest they couldn’t be.
Just because Bergman just extended his contract by 2 years doesn’t mean he is off the table.

It just means he is contracted for another 2 years.

Players get traded while under contract all of the time. As long as both parties agree.

It would be highly unusual if a player re-signs and then immediately leaves. But it’s only a 2 year extension.

NAS can't make a decision 'one way or another'. Only decision he can make public right now is to stay.
This is not the NRL and a player can't nominate another club mid season, if he hadn't signed going into the end of the season he is gone. If he has made that decision already we won't hear until October.

On another note, this thread is delivering this morning. Trainee receptionist, the Flamingo and Greg Williams daughter all getting a run today. And it's only July.
Has to be a record.

I think you two need to put the boxing gloves on and sort it out once and for all.

His manager met with the club a week ago when it’s reported he asked for a 2-year deal from the club and the “ball was firmly in St Kilda’s court” with Adelaide clubs conceding we have our man.

Let’s deal with facts not emotion.

Ratten says hello (though not a player).

I think you should look into how West tigers have reacted to the Lachlan Galvin situation
Maybe look into the Canterbury reaction as well. However it is rare to be released mid season in NRL. Usually a player will sign on with another club around this time of the season and play the season with their current club with no problems.

AFL fans have been so gaslit about tradition and 'romance' that a player leaving is to be hated forever more. It is pretty amateur and so typically AFL.

I just can't see us bending over with this one. We have the whip hand even though he is out of contract. The fact he specifically only would go if it is to a SA club means if we don't agree on a deal, he goes to the PSD where either West Coast, Richmond or Norf take him, or he lands back at us as we are positioned lower than Crows and Port.

There is no way he takes that risk. He would just re-sign with us.

If he wants to go to SA and doesn’t wfat difference is a year at west coast or Richmond (probably for $2m) to staying with us?

Becoming a lot more common the mid season move. The NRL also really didn’t do anything with the Galvin stuff, the tigers did alllll that and frankly… wests… lol.

I believe it's known as "the Ratten gambit"....
