If dodson keeps kicking goals you can aim to play him a the second ruck behind tdk until you hand over to him. Competing with keeler for that position.

And if TDK plays like he is currently? And Dodson turns out to be the new Xerri, and then we are stuck with a Mackay situation but twice as costly and hampering us going forward.
The risk is incredibly high. Would rather keep Marshall for a couple of years and see if we can prize out a midfielder as a salary dump.
It is a high risk and the situation is rapidly changing. TDK looks a shadow of himself and Dodson is on the up. Heath getting a gig and Marshall contracted.

Dodson plays forward and gives TDK a chop out in the ruck. Sounds like he has genuine forward craft and we can't rely on Max imo.

Honestly I don’t think he’s that far away. He’s as developed as any ruck. You have to be able to see what youlve got. It’s like Tauru and Pou, some times you can tell.

He is 19.

Go read Travaglia's draft profile. His two biggest assets are his huge running capacity and his flexibility to play halfback, wing or MIDFIELD.

Our two best players with the ball are Naz & Sinc. One was drafted as a dreaded HBF, the other was a half forward.

Should we trade Pou for one of the mids taken ahead of him? Or is developing him into an on baller a better option?

Would you swap Tauru for Xavier Lindsay?

What about Murphy Reid? He's a small forward though isn't he? Or are you expecting Fremantle to develop his game so that he can rotate on ball?

I get that people have trauma from the Billings/Dunstan/Acres draft being followed by the Clark/Coff draft but the talent wasn't really the issue.

The people running the club failed to develop the talents those players had to the level required.

I would absolutely prefer we win more games, finish as high as we can, and sell the idea to players like Aleer, Florent, TDK etc that they could be the difference makers in getting us into the finals.

Way better than sticking to the bottom 4 and hoping we nail our single pick year on year.

its turned out well for us,im not complaining about the two weve got,but an area of need is a mid im hearing constantly,im going to be pissed if these pricks around us are all tanking and we have the pick after the last top mid is taken AGAIN,thats just the way it is

If Garcia keeps going like he is he looks like Butters. Add Phillipou and Boxshall that's a pretty decent core. Pure inside mids can't really play elsewhere so really need 3 inside and a few multiple positions types that can roll though.

We were beaten in the mids in the 4th. An experienced cool head like an Oliver or Walsh would have been invaluable.

We use the money on a mid salary dump, the rest ( Walsh or Oliver would not be on more than 1.1 a season) to the likes of NWM, Windy and Hall.
We don't need TDK with our ruck Stocks, but need a high quality mid.
Fancy Macrae, Walsh, Pou, Garcia, Greeves etc as our mids? Heath and Dodson could be our rucks for a decade.

It's time to move on from Marshall as the sole ruck. TDK is younger and at least on par. I'm keen to see something different.

Personally I would keep Marshall on as a forward option unless we get an offer we can't refuse.

I’m leaving towards taking a key forward over a midfielder at our range of the draft if the talent is similar.

Think there’s enough to work with in regards to the mids, lacking up forward as much as anywhere else on the ground.

Honestly can you actually imagine if we pulled our offer now after courting him all year? Why, because 19 year old Dodson had a good game in the 2s?

No player would ever trust us again.
