GC, Carlton, Sydney, Brisbane all need points our picks would help withAh Gold Coast. The club that oscilates between blessing us and f**king us.
Any of them actually gonna have list spots for our low value picks thoGC, Carlton, Sydney, Brisbane all need points our picks would help with
There's probably 20 examples of out of contract players getting traded for close to fair value for every one thats significantly unders.Blake Acres is just an example.
There are literally heaps out there where if a player is out of contract, the team that has the player rarely receives ‘fair’ and just receives what the buying team can offer.
We can’t offer 25-29. We don’t have that pick. So, why should we have to attempt to extract value to satisfy them??
I feel like I’m taking crazy pills and everyone is missing my point and quoting that Acres is a spud etc.
Rarely do teams ‘try’ to compromise when they have the upper hand.
What I’m saying is put 33 on the table. It’s then up to Melbourne to work the edges. Let them suggest 33 and a F2 for McVee and a F4 or whatever.
It 100% shouldn’t be on us to get a pick that they want.

Yeah was thinking along the same lines. But in that case we’re probably giving 26 for McveeEssendon may be a pick trade partner
Freo - 12, 33 and 44
Bombers - 20, 26 and 29
Points aren’t required for Bombers. These picks are more or less same value.
Personally I’d hate it. 29 to McVee.
We get crafty with other pieces using trades for Reidy, Brodie (potentially upgrading existing picks or an F4), 44, 53, F3 etc.Which club would offer us a mid 20s pick in exchange for worse picks? Does David Walls need to use the jedi mind trick on a lesser list manager? "These are the picks you are looking for."

Potentially I missed a few posts and made a conclusion and if that is the case I’m sorry. I don’t have time to scroll endlessly. Anyway when you put it like that I agree. We can have a go at trying to get that pick they would like but it may not happen and we wait on them to come up with something to satisfy the sweetening of pick 34.Blake Acres is just an example.

that's what I heard/read tooThat's not what happened
He told north he wants to look around
This is why I think we downgrade pick 12 with one trade partner (Bombers) then hold the picks (we’ll have 5 spots open) until draft night, then have a prearranged trade with someone (GC currently have the pick we’d want and need points but that could all change in the next few days)Any of them actually gonna have list spots for our low value picks tho
Blues lost a few but are bringing in Reidy, buku and chesthair
Can't see us moving 12 down, that would be dumb afEssendon may be a pick trade partner

Not sure Essendon really have a need for our later picks either. Can't see us moving 12 down, that would be dumb af
Damn… clubs can do that? Front load contracts and then hold players to said contract???Xander McGuire said on a poddy that Simpkin was front loaded and that's why north probably won't let him go
Makes sense, have paid him a big part of his contract, they just get stung if he leaves now
And LobsterDamn… clubs can do that? Front load contracts and then hold players to said contract???
Somebody should’ve told Peter Bell this when Lachie Neale was looking to bounce.
Our 12 is basically 17... if we downgrade we will be going to 25 territory and more academy kids may be bid between 20 and 30 as well... ..so that 17 may become 30 if we downgradeCan't see us moving 12 down, that would be dumb af

I just read chuck 34 on the table and walk away. I assumed that meant Wallsy writes that number on a card with his phone number and buggers off to the pub for the rest of the week waiting for their call to do the deal.
Where ever it was that Acres was thrown into the mix is still a bad example. Not worth taking crazy pills over though.
Issue is GC will want us to smuggle the picks through to draft night, doesn't help with McVee right nowNot sure Essendon really have a need for our later picks either.
Reckon they'll do some sort of mass pick swap with Gold Coast or Carlton which will be what unlocks an opportunity for us.
We did hold Lobb for 2022And Lobster
I think we paid fair value-ish for all of those trades. The Weller trade accounts for 1 player on our list. One, out of 44.
So far we've won the Clark and Jackson trades, and even accounting for Jye's underwhelming year we've edged the Cerra trade.
We have limited positions on the main list and its a Goober draft. The only ones trading down are going to be points hunter or idiots like WC.
We will take 2 live picks at the draft at maximum. I will find where Walls lives and fart in his face after a whole day of drinking beer and eating meat if he breaks up 11 for McVee.
Twomey was saying they might take as many as six academy players. They'll probably want to make eight list spots available pre-draft to make that happen (likely list structure of 30-4 before the draft).Issue is GC will want us to smuggle the picks through to draft night, doesn't help with McVee right now
Think it probably just ends up 34 and a F3 with maybe an F4 back instead as capital seems hard to get this year
That sounds like Rosa has inhaled toxic gas already and had an aneurysmWhat if someone does something a bit dumb.
Like Essendon offer 20 and a F1 for 12?
Then we offer 20 for McVee and change?
Jeez that's more than a bit dumb for a team likely to finish bottom six next year. Reckon they've got the fourth worst list in the comp tbh (although Melbourne probably get worse than them when trade period is done). What if someone does something a bit dumb.

They aren't anywhere near eight selections worth points yet. Reckon they'll make at least 3-4 pick swaps in the next 10 days tbh and probably another 2-3 on draft night.
