Go over to the Gold Coast board (if anyone posts on there) in 2017 and see if they thought the Weller trade was in our favour.

Go to the Melbourne board and I doubt they're gloating about winning any of the trades they did with us at the time.

When the Judd McVee trade is done I'm sure the Melbourne board will be disappointed with what they get. They'll be people on this board unhappy we gave more than pick 33/34. My view is even this board will look back in twelve months and say we got McVee for a bargain - unless we pay more than I expect of course.

I don't think any neutral supporter looks at the trades we've done with Melbourne at the time and would say we got bent over.

Langdon and Jackson were about right at the time, maybe 5% at most in Melbourne's favour.

Hogan was significant unders at time. Don't pretend otherwise because he didn't work out. He's easily a two first rounder type talent.

We'll negotiate in good faith like every club does 95% of time.

Hogan was massive overs given the question marks over his injury problems and his love of colombian produce.

Langdon we got bent over, they got him for nothing.

Jackson probably about right.

I don't want to see Melbourne get a win here, especially after they signed Kozzie - I'd like to come out of this on the right side, and get him on the cheap.

Kind of hope they're an absolute rabble now and Kozzie regrets taking the money.

I don't think he was worth more than about pick 15 at the time tbh.

Pick 17 and a few steak knives was reasonable enough imo.

I think McVee will be a win.

I also think some of other trades were poor at the time, and in hindsight horrible.

Hey whoa there. I've spent years countering the myth on here that Bell didn't want Hogan and was overruled. It doesn't then follow RTB didn't want him. I'm pretty sure he did.

I'd argue that Ross Lyon in that 2018 off season is very similar to Ross Lyon now in 2025 - in that he is in dire need of getting results and is buying mature bodies to fill key roles to achieve it.

Bell didn’t want hogan. The feathers was around keeping Neale.

He was overruled by Rosich, who was really running the show at the time. It’s part of why Ross and rosich both had to go together, they’d hitched themselves to the replumb.

Still believe that had he held firm on not wanting Hogan, he probably also holds Neale to his contract.

Disagree with that, old Belly was ****-a-hoop with the Hogan/Lobb dual signing.

Glad the days of Belly are gone, at least Walls doesn't embarrass himself every trade week.
