Spot on. To add to this if the top 5 natural pick is traded, the team that had the pick originally will still receive the end of 1R pick.We both get 1 is my understanding. It's any team with a top 5 pick that gets pushed back.
The dumb thing is that in the other years if a guy isn't worth pick 1 or 2 and gets bid at 4 the teams benefitting will be the teams that least need the help.
Yep it’s the original club’s pick so no club is going to have two original top 5 picks.Reckon it's just an extra pick, even if you had 2 picks in the top 5, I believe it's just 1 pick.
Surely not correct. Norf would have got 1 last year under this premise but Twomey mentioned us and Essendon getting a pick (and he noted WC would have bid at 1 with this scenario)Spot on. There’s nothing about HVH that is similar to Sean Darcy. For people who have been watching HVH, what type of ruck is he? Seems to model his game on Sean Darcy, is that a concern with the shift to more agile rucks like English and Jackson?
I have not seen him play live and only based on size and picturesFor people who have been watching HVH, what type of ruck is he? Seems to model his game on Sean Darcy, is that a concern with the shift to more agile rucks like English and Jackson?
he athletic ?There’s nothing about HVH that is similar to Sean Darcy.
HVH is tall, athletic, good skills and can clunk big contested grabs. (To be honest, looks a better prospect than CDT)
This is our guy. A big colossus is needed for the next modern day dynasty, or you can sit there and watch Thilthorpe and Darcy lick silverware.Watched the Harry van Hattum R1 highlights, my god we need him. Would love to somehow generate another first round pick in this draft somehow and its looking pretty good so far
Id rather best playerbest mid with our first pick surely
We should put Ross back on a wing and Retschko on the other.Id rather best player
We have a lot of holes in our list. Mids, Wings, Rucks ...
Seems like good use of our AFL charity pick.
Jackson Phillips impressed in round 1, displaying a number of traits that could well put him in the draft frame come the end of the year. Unlike some midfielders that rotate forward, Phillips looked dangerous inside the forward 50, connecting on a couple of nice hit up leads. In the midfield his stoppage craft looks solid, always on the move and able to time his run to hit the drop zone. He has the pace to burn off opponents, and his kicking skills look to be penetrating and accurate.
Apparently has a good running vertical leap,Is
he athletic ?
We all know he is tall and built like a brick sheet house but never seen much posted about his athletic traits and mostly his size
Tigs2010 is the best source better then CalApparently has a good running vertical leap,
Source Dylan Alexander and tigs2010.
And what if the best mid available is Travis Johnstone, and the ruck you ignore is Brad Ottens? We should put Ross back on a wing and Retschko on the other.
Trade for a decent ruck.
Draft best available mid, plus Armstrong and Leys. Sorted.
He'd have to be a clear cut above any mids to pull the trigger. And what if the best mid available is Travis Johnstone, and the ruck you ignore is Brad Ottens?
I'm normally against drafting rucks that early but Hard Hat Harry looks capital S Special. With all the KPPs we've recruited we could then solely focus on pace and class for the next four years.
If we had a choice of the next Max GawnHe'd have to be a clear cut above any mids to pull the trigger.
Much easier to trade for a decent ruckman and that's all you need when competing.
Way harder to trade for a quality mid.
