I am really hating having 2 extra teams playing opening round means only 8 teams don’t have the early bye.
I can see me having too many North and Port players than I like to start with.

Yeah, and the 8 non early bye teams includes all of the likely bottom 4 teams for the year, ie the teams with very few premos that you'd want to start with - WCE, Richmond, Melbourne, Essendon.

Even Adelaide don't really have anyone of value unless you want to take a punt on Soligo or Curtin breaking out. Tough times.

What is the upside with Sweet ?

No early bye, some meat on the bone and not the worst start.
First 4 games North, Bombers, Eagles, Tigers.
1 tough game in north and 3 easy games for rucks. Then jump off to a guy who has had his bye after sweet has made some coin or that is the plan.

Here's another port player I might start with.

Miles Bergman has been spotted training with the mids.

Yeah don't mind it, there is almost no value at the top of the price range amongst defenders and they all have early byes (apart from Rozee). Bergman, McKercher and a heavily discounted Newman all have appeal.

Plus Ridley and McGrath if he is playing midfield. I think Starcevich could play midfield and be in everyone's round 1 team too.
Lots of value in the defenders. Could be a mistake to pick anyone priced over 80

Not sure I could ever pick Ridley, he gives me Tom Stewart vibes with his injury proneness. More interested in Archie Roberts if anyone.

McGrath is pretty meh and has never been a great scorer, Merrett and Caldwell will both be 105 avg so not sure how many points will be left over for a team that won't win too many. Stranger things have happened though!

I don't think Starcevich will play midfield, Eagles got him to be the general down back, we are desperate for an experienced head down there with McGovern and Hurn retired and Duggan just clinging on.

Ridley injured a hamstring, as per Foxsports/HeraldSun - so no way I'm going near him.....

Is there even room in their midfield for McGrath. Got Merrett, Caldwell, Parrish, Roberts, Durham plus their rookies in Sharp, Robey and Farrow for mid minutes.

Why would you want him in your midfield, McGrath is terrible..... if Essendon want to move upwards, they need to move away from people like McGrath in key roles. But that's probably a subject for another discussion

All that academy & father son bidding has made some important rookies for the garbage teams that little bit cheaper. All those years where you end up $1-10k shy of your perfect team 😁

Sharp at the price of Kako last year should be a gift if Essendon dont break him over next 3 months.

Taylor at pick 11 price
Cumming at pick 7 price.
Farrow at 10 hopefully slots into a cushy hbf role.
Grlj at 8 should start half back and get fed the ball an absolute ton to use his pace.

WC biddong on 2 GC players before taking Lindsay saves some cash assuming he will be locked into a back flank.

Anyone know if the positions are based on their club roles or Champs only or just the vibe?
