But even more amazing that out of 90,000 that were at the game today 89,000 were Collingwood supporters. Brisbane and Sydney have strong vic support due to there Fitrzoy and Sydney Ties.

Last years 82,000 crowd where Collingwood and Brisbane played there were probably 15,000 Brisbane supporters (and 90% of them would of been ex Pat Fitzroy supporters who crossed over to support the Brisbane Lions)

The Collingwood v West Coast crowd of 90,028 will probably never be broken by a Victorian team v interstate team
It will be

You do realise my comment was: "The added benefit for the AFL is that it shows everyone why the Tassie Devils need an indoor stadium if they are to hold night games over winter in Tassie."

Note I said night games.

The AFL has agreed to the Devils hosting four games a year in Launceston, but they won't necessarily be night games.

There's a decent possibility that the Devils' night games will be in Hobart under the roof, with day games in Launceston on Saturday or Sunday afternoon.
I think you’re being naive to think that Launceston will never host night games in the years moving forward during winter…

South were more popular than Fitzroy (historically) and would obviously be bigger than all other non Vic clubs. They have roughly the same amount of MCC members as North and the Dogs.
Going to high school in the 1980s most Swans supporters switched to other Vic clubs. Lions supporters generally struck with Brisbane. Reckon most Swans fans at Melbourne games would be from NSW background.

I had an Eagles mate fly over for this game (booked it thinking it would be a regular Collingwood v West Coast game) and said he never felt so outnumbered at an Eagles game.

I think the only chance this record gets broken is if you guys can't make the top 10 before the final round and Pendles announces this is it, his final season. We play you guys round 24.

Living in Melbourne now I'd say that the Swans base in Victoria is about 60-65% old South Melbourne (or kids of them) and 35-40% NSW expats. While ours is 90% old Fitzroy (or kids of them) and 10% Queensland expats.

Hopefully during the day though

They’ll be playing 7 of their 11/12 home games at York Park until Macquarie Point is up and going (at least 2031 if not later)

Given 70 percent of games are now under lights that’s a lot of night football (understanding that until now, the Hawks have taken four of their lesser games to York Park and not the prime time fixtures that would be scheduled at night)

If the Devils get Thursday or Friday night games in 2028, 2029 and 2030 they will probably be played at York Park given the facilities are far better than Bellerive.

Poor turnout from the MCC, For this to end up being less than Dusty's 300th.
This crowd was more impressive than Dusty's 300th...What annoys me about Richmond supporters is they don't acknowledge that at least 30K of the crowd on the day was made up of Hawthorn supporters... the Hawks were up and about at that stage winning 5 out of last 6 heading into that match.

Can’t we just celebrate both crowds for what they were. They were both great. Nothing else needed to say.

Yes, but when someone comes in here to have a potshot at a crowd, compare it to their own team's crowd without considering the context, then it's reasonable to call that out.
