Thought I'd shart a thread about the 2026 fixture!

We're in the middle 6, so grouped with Freo, GWS, Swans, Blues, Saints. We'll play at least three of these twice. Not great from a commercial perspective, these clubs.

We are owed a win in Adelaide for Gather Round - hope they put us at Barossa Valley against the Eagles or something. We've been shafted playing Port, Cats, Lions the last three years.

And SURELY we get a home game against Sniff and the GF runner ups this time, surely .....

Would love to see a home MCG game against either Coll or Haw, and keep the Easter Sunday twilight game.

The fact the media questioned why we only played at Cat Park for Sniff and the Dogs first game might jolt them along. But it is some Canadian bloke who is apparently a Geelong supporter 😏 who does the FIXture.

One of the best attended matches we had this season was against an interstate team, Adelaide, 40,000+ Marvel. They had quite a few fans there but it was 3/4 Bulldogs obviously. Both teams were going well but the main reason was the 1:40 Saturday arvo timeslot, so family friendly. But this game wasn’t initially planned for Marvel, it was the relocation of a Ballarat game. We need some more of these slots.

Amazing isn't it? Sometimes if you give the people what they want...

We can go through all the clubs, all the history, all the “fairness” permutations. But what’s gonna happen is …

We’ll get screwed.
Again.

We all know we will play Geelong in Geelong as per usual.

Last 3 seasons we have had 5 interstate games plus gather round.

Hope we don’t play in: Darwin or at the Gabba

Dream interstate for me would be:
Eagles in Perth
Port in Adelaide
GWS in Canberra
Swans in Sydney
Hawks in Launceston (selfish reasons)

Likely to only get Brisbane once too, and hopefully at home, given we had them twice last year and neither were our home game.

Whoever draws both l Richmond and the Eagles twice get a massive head start, almost a lock for 4 wins right there.
If it’s not in Brisbane with a GC game up here too I’ll fair dinkum riot

Not playing Geelong at Marvel this year was a marketing opportunity the AFL normally don't miss, given the Sniff stuff. I'm sure Geelong would of requested not to play us at Marvel, knowing that Bailey wouldn't be able to help himself in response to the abuse from over the fence. For this reason again I don't think we will get them at Marvel again next year.

2026 fixture -
  • Geelong in Geelong
  • 2 away games at the G against Richmond and Melbourne
  • GWS and GC if we play in Ballarat
  • Double ups North, Saints, GWS, Adelaide, Freo, GC
  • Saints gather round
  • Home v Freo Round 1

It’s already been given to Carlton from what I’ve heard.

Short turn around from Good Friday yes, but they need the exposure.
“AFL is better when the big clubs are up and about”

What's the Ballarat situation? Will the stadium be done, or are we expecting any games there? It would be handy to get Crows or Brisbane there instead of Marvel if so.

My dream...

No games in Geelong.
2 massive MCG home games against Hawthorn and Collingwood. (need big game experience at the G)
Limited Thursday (did our part this year)
Some kid friendly sat / sun games against interstate teams.
No Ballarat games (backward move)

What will happen. The computer will spit out the same draw we always get. There are certain side we always play once and others always twice over the course of many years. Eg: I think we have only played Carlton twice (once or twice in 20 years, or something similar). Geelong in Geelong is now a given, no matter what.
