I thought it was 6 games in Melbourne? Not MCG
It could be 6 not 7, but it specifically mentions games at the MCG, Waverley or (I think?) Princes park - if not it was a different suburban ground. The point being that the other two aren’t used for AFL games anymore

If the cats win the flag next year with that then every competing team will be screaming for the extra tough draw after what we did this year.

Prime time issue aside, I reckon these games give us a good chance to pace ourselves and lead into finals against 3 likely competitors in the final 3 rounds. I’m liking it a lot

I don't like Thursday/Friday/Sunday night games so happy about that. Saying that, it's likely we get a few between 16-24 considering some of the teams we're playing.

Time someone from the club pulls up the agreement from the merger that they signed with the AFL. It mandates 7+ games at the MCG every year. How’s that working out?
There was an SEN caller recently who said he was part of that agreement. He said the agreement from the AFL was “best-intentions”, so pretty much a throwaway line from the AFL admin at the time to marginally placate Fitzroy - but ultimately means nothing.

Also as a result we’ve only got 1 x 5 day break (home against pies round-4). The rest is quite consistent.

Nothing to be unhappy about as a supporter, questions probably to be asked from the club in terms of advertising/sponsorship - but we’re back-to-back premiers. I don’t think our sponsors have too much to complain about.

Geelong’s draw is awful, thought we’d get that - they have double ups against Freo, Adelaide, Lions, Pies, Suns
Will help Geelong as the "Master coach" / business consultant won't overthink his tactics (maybe).

A bit disappointed, I came back here after a midday run looking for the melts. It see nothing in our fixture to be upset about!

Now if we can just avoid a bloody cyclone early season, i think the cup makers can already start engraving our name on that 2026 cup…

Though Cats got their traditional easy run home… Essendon, North, Richmond to close things out. Allow Dangerfield to get some downtime to get his body right for another massive crack in a prelim.

3 games at Marvel, 2 at the MCG and 1 in Geelong. That Richmond game being moved to Tasmania would have been great at the MCG (other than for our Tassie based fans and those who want to travel to there for the weekend).

It seems like our best recent winning records have been at Marvel (for a few years) and the MCG (last 2 years anyway).

As long as he only plays one good game it doesn't matter.

Time to learn how to win at the Gabba again…
