The Fixture for the first 15 Games of 2026 has just dropped. And opponents for the whole H&A Season.

Double ups versus, GWS, Gold Coast, Carlton, Port, Richmond and Sydney.

Very middle of the road.. Carlton will be worse, Port likely about the same and Sydney to improve.

**** not great tbh.
How tf do we draw every interstate team away except for west coast which shouldn’t matter where we play them.

One of the more low key smart moves this club has made is to make sure we face a SA team post gathering round.

Reduces travel

Port will be worse too, new coach, few retirements, JHF already looking injured, no draft picks, and no recruits this year, we should be beating them comfortably

Sydney and GCS twice is tough but we gotta prove ourselves

4 interstate teams twice, could have given us Melbourne twice, given the Steele link and we play them in R1. Instead of one of the Sydney teams.
I don't mind it, we're gonna have to go through them with finals so its best Ross gets as much of an opportunity to face them and the Steele link is pretty inconsequential given that there really wasnt much drama around it. Plus the final 10 rounds in Melbourne makes up for it, no travel at all, great consistency

It doesn't look too horrible. The five day break into a Perth trip against Freo then into Hawthorn off a six day break looks tricky. Don't hate the Adelaide double up, just stay there and get two interstate games out of the way.

I'm feeling 60% glass half full right now.
But we have taken so many steps backwards in the past couple of seasons, it is coming off a low base.
Let's see how the he injury table looks in February.
Meanwhile, I won't raise my glass too high, lest it comes slippin' right out of my hands.

Early observations:
Double ups: Carlton, GWS, Sydney, Port Adelaide, GC, Richmond

The bad
Lots of travel in the 1st half of year.

Adelaide in Adelaide again. By some miracle. Not sure we’ve played them in melb since 2019.

The good
no double ups against the really strong sides. So probably a reasonable balance.

3 games at the G

Inclusion in opening round

No travel from Rd 14 onwards

I reckon it looks pretty good. My only concern is that we have all our interstate games early again. I dont want another season where we come home with a wet sail, but only after being eliminated from finals contention (although wildcard round should make that tougher).

Not too worried about back to back Adelaide games, wouldnt be surprised if we requested that for Nas and to troll Higgins.

I reckon it's a great fixture considering what we served up last season.

It'll be a fantastic fixture if we really get going & are rewarded with more prime-time slots.

We could really build some serious momentum with that run of very winnable games in Vic on the home stretch.
