He moved from the Dogs to the Cats on a 6 year deal worth 700k a year. He is probably about to sign a new contract that won’t increase the years left on his deal but rather probably double his pay from 700k to 1.4m.

Atleast that’s how I read it

Yeah that is way unders if I was Bailey Smith regardless of people's opinions on him

He was getting high numbers, is good for marketing (even if we don't like him) etc etc

A bit sketchy he was on $700k only

He's not worth much more than that tbh. Absolute butcher.
Dont disagree but plenty of others much worse than him on probably more

What was the outcome of that player over the weekend who got his shoulder dislocated? forgot the name
Doesn't matter who, they'll strap it up and be out next week. Only ours go straight in for surgery.
Pretty sure Daicos over extended his shoulder this weekend at one stage too.

Giving them Florent and Hayward on the contracts they were on helps add to their list issues.

We came out ahead salary cap wise.
I can understand why the club would pay a little more to keep Hayward but Florents contract length and the fact we paid overs boggles my mind.

You could do away with Florent and replace him with a 3rd / 4th year player who plays a role and keeps it simple and you save whatever extra Florent was being paid with no loss in overall team performance.

Carlton are in no man's land
It's glorious.

Throwing down grandfather contracts for Walsh on Daicos money will screw them over.

Plus paying 3.5 million in cap space for 6 new players.

It's like they're topping up. Thinking they're in a window.

The "thinking they're in a window" part is hilarious. What gave them that delusion?

And having Sam Walsh and Cripps in the same team makes them too one-dminesional, especially when theyre two of the highest paid players in the team.

Carlton have a lot of elite toilers. As in. The players they seem to select are ultimately toilers. But just really really good toilers. But it doesn't mean theyre not toilers.

It's entitlement.

I can't help but wonder if Cripps is half their problem. A very good but one-dimensional player who twice now has exhibited signs of giving up on the game plan. I watch Alex Pearce tonight and think "he'd give everything for the team" but I've never felt that about Cripps, more that it was first and foremost about himself. Last night with the Lions, who was the stand-in skipper? Dunkley with Harris and McGluggage missing. Another selfless player (leaving aside the history stuff). Just saying.

Spot on KC, also gives better perspective on our own captain. I would hold in a similar way, very selfless in the same mould as the two you mentioned.

Some people fall in to the trap that the best player needs to be captain. Cripps is having a horrible start to the season, is a great player but that doesn’t automatically translate into a great captain. Part of the Carlton problems is onfield leadership and these fade outs should be damning to all their Senior leaders.

Where Ollie and Hayward from the Mitchell pick?

it's worth noting Sydney received pick No.14 in the Mitchell trade, a selection they used as part of a subsequent trade that helped them secure Oliver Florent (No.11 overall) and Will Hayward (No.21) in that year's draft.
