I'm not lpno1 I don't have regular dialogue with the Daicos family and know his moves for certain

That moment when you realise that No - your membership is not on automatic renewal like you thought.

Whew, that was a close one.
They've either got the work experience kids running membership at the moment or the computers are on the fritz!
I'm DEFINITELY on auto renewal and when I hadn't received any info I rang them and they told me I wasn't.
So I renewed then and there and PAID FOR THE YEAR, then two weeks ago I got an email telling me my MONTHLY RENEWAL couldn't go through because my card had expired šŸ¤” I rang them again to tell them that A my card is not expired and B the yearly charge had come out of my account so there should be no monthly charge and they had no idea what I was talking about 🤷
Hope they're better organised on the field than in the office.

Can you imagine the size of the AFL endorsed brown paper bag that he would need be getting on top of his contract to go?

Imagine the Pies compensation , 20 pick ones, every game at the MCG for 15 years

Bugger. Our biggest missed opportunity. This guy actually wanted to be a swan and we said nah. Will not forgive beatson for this one.

At the time we did not need an inside mid. Look Beatson got this incorrect but people do forget just how highly rated Stephens was going in. Was the no 1 inside/outside midfielder in the draft. The type was correct. At the time we had Parker, etc in our inside division

Just like his team, i think Serong is severely overrated (good player, but overrated). I just don't see the impact and inspiration spouted by everyone in the way he plays.

Look we'd love the guy on our side, but this whole thing that year that we overpaid for Stephens is wrong. If we didn't take Stephens he'd still be gone next pick or the one after. He was seen as a sure thing as an inside/outside. Just didn't work and it's a number of reasons I have my thoughts on his development but it wasn't only that

I'd be curious which teams actually saw him as a sure thing. We'll never know really..

All I remember is that the broadcast was definitely surprised when he went as high as he did. I roughly remember him being rated around pick 12 and onwards - which at the top end is a big difference considering you are the 4th team to pick your choice out of a whole draft pool.

He was the correct type at the time, but i'd be pretty confident that we took a bit of a punt on him.

A lot of the criticism probably comes from just being disappointed. His weak efforts used to infuriate me knowing how much he cost us.

He was well and truely a top 10 selection that year. Wasn’t a surprise at all, the only surprise was we were linked to Flanders heavily and didn’t take him. Those two were seen as the top two inside/outside in our range. Then Serong as the inside, with Young the hybrid utility however at the time Young did have queries on where he’d fit in an afl side. So basically it was Flanders or Stephens.

Crazy is right! Imagine what he is going to be thinking watching his bro go for a three-peat in a few years time? He'll be asking, why did I sign for these nobodies when I could have been winning flags with my brother?
