Position 2026 Midfielders

I'm massive on LDU. If I didn't already have three roo premos I'd pick him. Has a 21 injured game in last years score. 109 and 113.6 averages the years before that. Great early draw. Just don't have the balls to do it.

As Confucius said:

“The small chol’d never gets the worm”

Or something like that

As I am not going Xerri, maybe LDU could be slotted in.

Is anyone crazy enough to look at Clayton Oliver with Callaghan, Kelly and Green out?

Last year I looked at Richards, Mcgluggage and Hewett and guys I thought were value in the midfield. Didn't have the balls to pick a single one. I wonder who is gonna be the 500-550k bloke who breaks the ceiling this year. There's always one.

I'm biased but im throwing jack macrae out there.

Ended up playing plenty of games last year- but was playing clearly hampered for the 2nd half of the year after a punctured lung in rnd 10.

He scored this in the first 9 rounds before injury:

With steele gone, tdk in and him now back to full health- I'll be shocked if he doesn't average ~110.

Obvs more relevant as a fwd but Freijah is some chance depending on how they manage Libba this yr. Will likely be 4th in line as they look to expose him more, similar to when they gave Richards the chance. Dogs midfield always score well. Problem is Libba is so good inside and can't play anywhere else so not really sure how it plays out

Seems like he was pushed out towards the back of the year, had horrible TOG. Surely that doesn't get better with Flanders coming in?

No one loves Macrae more than me but he's done as a SC pick.

He's going to be behind too many to score consistently well.

He was being managed because of injury- endurance suffered because of his injured lung.

Flanders in, steele out makes macrae fulltime mid even more vital for us than last year.

Both nas and flanders will play lots of midfield- but will also have periods playing off half back too (to break tags and shake up matchups etc).

We need macrae playing fulltime onball more than ever now.

I reckon Max Hall may be getting a bigger run.

Out of curiosity, what's it looking like for Steele at Melbourne. Has a history of uber-premo scores, and $510k could be a steal if he can get anywhere close. Gotta be number 1 mid at Demon land? New, fresh start could be a rejuvination...

Been plenty of talk about him in this thread - use the search function to assist.

Basically some think he's too slow and old, others think someone has to score in that midfield so he might spud his way to 100s...

He's been playing on a busted knee for years.
He'll score great if he can put that behind him for a whole season.
But that's a pretty massive if.

He usually gets circa 6-10 games under his belt running around freely.
But then his knee hobbles him and he struggles

Heeney is a stud. Gulden is a stud. Bont is a stud. So stupid we have to miss out on certain players cos of the byes.

We going to need a bigger belt .

I think early byes are overated. So many moving parts.

I am also going to target cashies only this year just always chase points early for ranking and kills me.

So happy to carry a few early season byes.

It’s the battle I am having, most cashies start round 4. I don’t want to compromise the team I want at the end because of the team I start with.
