True.
It's a strange one. The music was almost overbearing but then Kubrick showed scenes where astronauts where in space, working on something and it was dead quiet.
I just like those backdrop scenes such as the ride over to see the monolith and they sitting in their mini spaceship eating a sandwich while engineers and scientists are doing their thing on the base of the moon as they whiz by above.

I wasn't a fan of the soundtrack. Just loved the science of the whole movie.

Different POV- but the "look" of a film is so incredibly important.

My favourite movie is Silence of the Lambs- that "grainy/gritty" realistic feel to it is one of the reasons why I love it.
On the flip side- it's sequel Hannibal is all "glossy" and just sh*t + that is one of the reasons why I hated it.

I never saw any of the other's. I have seen bits and pieces.
Anthony Hopkins was in his prime during the making of the first one. Helps when an actor is an intelligent individual by nature as they can pass off those characters effectively. He really gave a stellar performance.
Foster as well. Quite brilliant all round.

Well the OOP is about to be released.

So 5th seed will stay put and a lucky loser slots into 1st seed position.

Rublev will be happy he finally knows what the F will happen tomorrow.

Good. Never liked the seed system anyway. Just do a random draw every time I say. It'd be fairer, plus there's be a chance to see big match-ups all throughout the tournament and fresh faces make it through.

As a Fed fan, this couldn't have been scripted any better, even though it has a huge waste of time and resources, not to mention taken focus off the slam itself, it could not have happened to a worthier grub.

And I thought him being defaulted from USO was bad

Depends, thinking that the lucky loser to take his place may well be Matt Ebden and if so it would mean an Aussie double header for the night session
