He hasn’t re injured it but gets to a point and can’t push that extra bit apparently.

Guess he knows himself obviously when to pull back

Its a conundrum as its not a injury he can just push through or play with meds/injections etc.

Not much you can do other than wince at his contract lol

The guy is genetically built to work in an office. I know it's no fault of his own but the thought of him just pisses me off now - i'm jealous of other clubs captains, elite players who play, whilst we miss out on having that extra A-grader on the field, eating up elite calibre cap space. I doubt we ever see him in full flight again. Hannebery all over again and i'd argue Mills's history has been even worse and from a younger age. That form line historically never turns around.

Other than Daniher, I can't think of a single player who turned their injury riddled career around to finish strong.

Hanners did more for us than Mills to this stage

Shaun Burgoyne did it well

Mills is the highest paid player also on our list

Let’s hope he ramps up this week with no problems.

Again he hasn’t re injured it. Just falling short of that next step

It may simply be the medical team are being cautious with him or are doing a strength period (movements like nordic curls to lengthen) before he does running.

I'm not too concerned yet, I will be more concerned if his not running in another 2 or so weeks time.

I've stuck fast up until now but I believe it's time that he resigns the captaincy. If Cox is for real he needs to tap him on the shoulder if he needs to undergo special treatment with little certainty of the outcome.
I’d wait until it is confirmed but agree if he is not right then he can’t continue to be captain.

I dont really care about the captaincy i care about the fact is past 3 seasons he has been on the bench with a headset on rather than playing a role while being on massive money.

And that is a damn shame the game keeps demanding more and it would be 3 seasons since Mills had any sort of continuality and that is a long time in the modern landscape.

Charlie Curnow? 🤞

Love the updates!

Where is the preseason training schedule published? Would love to get to a session with my boys.

Nothing is published. Attendance is not encouraged, except occasionally when they advertise an "open" training session. But normally, in pre-season, it's Mon/Wed/Fri from about 9.30 to 11.30 on Tramway Oval (they have moved back from Bat & Ball).

I used to walk across Tramway on my way to the SCG.
I remember noticing how hard the surface was when the weather was fine.

Not quite Optus Stadium hard (i.e., not concrete) …. But I wouldn’t really want to be tackled on Tramway.

It may have changed since they completely renovated and upgraded the surface a couple of seasons ago?

Nah completely different structural (Curnow) compared to dreaded soft issue injuries (Mills)

I was suggesting Charlie is a player who has completely turned around an injury riddled career. Played just 15 games in 3 seasons due to a range of injuries including ligament damage. I remember pundits (one of them a former Bulldogs player who had had similar injuries) saying they doubted he would ever get back to his former promise. Then Charlie returned to have 2 All Australian seasons.

There was no reference to said player only having soft tissue injuries. I daresay there are numerous other examples of players returning to have golden years after extended injury issues. I wish AJ had been among them.
