They do this every year with the new DPP coming in through the season. Hardly any DPP to start the season, but then BAM!

I have very little flexibility in my starting squad and it is going to hurt when it comes to getting Murdock and Cook in next week when I have stinky McKercher who needs to be moved on..

Only option is ZZ > Def, McAndrew to R3, and hold that for a week or two before I can switch things around.

I did the maths, the starting splits are close enough to last year. It must be that I have picked less DPP's to start the year.

I kept $129,000 in my salary cap and started Fonti from the gun. My aim was to upgrade Fonti to a fallen premium. In a few weeks I should be able to get Nas.

If Fonti keeps putting out 90s, then it will work out well.

I didn't start with Dev because I wanted to downgrade to him and deliberately started with round 0 rooks. I have Gothard, Caroll, Rosas, Budarick that will all rise in price. Whoever has the shittest breakeven after this week, I will downgrade to Dev.

I will keep Phillipou because he will come good. If he misses, he only misses a week and can be a captain loophole. If he is a dud after six weeks I will ditch him though.

Started with Murdock and Blamires. Didn't start with Watkins. Carrol to Watkins was the original plan but I am worried about Watkins JS.

One thing I note this year is the DPP's are thinner on the ground, makes it harder to shift players around to trade mid pricers on different lines.

Not DPP to start with as you mentioned but they will be coming

Decided to dump A Roberts because Essendon and B Scott and Walsh because I realised I didn't want to see him play well.

Brought in Milera and hope he's over his injury problems plus Parker who will play that Supercoach friendly role and won't miss games.

I've worked out a way to get Bont in for Gulden rather than just going with a straight trade to Serong who I'm not sold on.

Blakiston > Murdock via Grlj and then Gulden > Bont

I wasn't impressed with Blakiston who looks like he will score like a cheap rookie so his extra cash is better spent elsewhere.

Doing it now means carrying bont through his bye which you don't have to do.

Gulden to murdock this week if you are struggling for numbers to get a decent best 18.
Otherwise, no real harm in waiting a week to get another look at blakiston and murdock.

Do nothing this week, then errol to murdock next week, then blakiston to bont the week after would be how I would do it i think.

Who knows- maybe blakiston will go big in the next 2 weeks and you'll be the guy who traded out the guy everyone is trading in?

Holding Pou and Marshall will wait for teams...just need 1 to play.
Also a watch on young with his hammy / test.

Have gone gulden to Murdock.
Young has a Hammy ? ..... I did not know that

I don't have Gulden, so don't have that issue to deal. So, rookie/mid-price corrections are what I'm looking for.

Rookies that I have are:

DEF: Grlj, Lindsay, Serong, Jacques and Sellwood
MIDS: B Cook, D Sharp, T Blamires, J Smith, J Watkins and Bruhn
RUCK: White (Loop for Bont klast week), McAndrew (In Flex)
FORWARDS: Budarick, Pou, Dev, Marshall, Lombard

Only ones 'on the bubble' this week that I don't have are;

Fonti ($298,000): Scored 119 & 83. BE of -33. Wouldn't mind him, but would have to be for J Clark. Don't think I want to do that.
Logan McDonald ($203,700): 52 & 101, BE -38. Under injury cloud? Could swap Pou to him or Rosas.
Malcolm Rosas ($145,000): 68 & 50, BE -36. See above.
Jack Carroll ($119,000): 54 & 59, BE -45. Maybe for Watkins if dropped? Might be better to grab Milan instead?
Jake Riccardi ($372,800): 111 & 99, BE 1. Can't get to him without another trade, so will have to miss.
ZZ ($119,900): 56 & 62, BE. Bye, can wait until next week.

Anyone on the bubble I have missed?

I think I will hold unless Watkins is dropped.

Sorry for the rambling, just needed to write this all down for my sanity.

I'm not struggling to get a decent best 18 this week but I would still rather have Bont than Blakiston as one of my players.

I could wait a week or two to do those trades but I might have other trades I want to do then.

Judd_Magic you have some competition in the chase to the No Trades Club.

Not boosting.

I'll let the kent win the no trades club award as long as he buys me a few scotch and cokes and a Cuban cigsr when I get there. 😍

Due to poor bye mangement that is essentially me. Jagga, Bruhn, N Daicos
If Young misses may need to bring in cook too.

That's not poor bye management – most have those three.

I think Charlie Comben is going to go to a new level this year

118 points, and absolutely domninated defensively. Wondering if it's worth burning a trade from NAS?

I know it sounds desperate but if Comben really does become a keeper, I can reutilize that cash from Nas downgrade. I'll have 1.1M free cash.
