Music to my ears.

The likes of Ned Long, De Mattia are all on notice. It's going to be a tough midfield to crack into.

But I do hope that Pendles goes around for one more year, even ifs limited games etc. He just had to be fit and firing for when it counts.
HDM will be cracking in for the EDFL next year

so he was prepared to go to Freo for $1.2m in total over 2 years and we are paying $3m over 3?

We seem to just get taken advantage of so easily by other managers and players.

It shows we don’t have the same pull as we think we do on here
I don't think we were taken advantage of.

We are not only paying for his footy ability, we are also paying a premium for his footy IQ and his ability to teach his midfield craft to our future generation.

Yes 1 million for a player of his age is tough pill to swallow , but can you imagine if he is able to train and help create 2-3 elite mids who become part of our next premiership team.

We can ways seriously front end his contract so that we are paying him whilst he is still producing at an extremely high level.

Can always drop the value of his last year to the league minimum.

closer to Geelong too
It’s still ages from Geelong, makes no sense for him to be living in Williamstown and playing there given he’s not a city boy.

90% chance he goes to the dogs I think in all seriousness, but if living in Williamstown rules any club out my money is on Geelong being the one out of the race.

If given the choice between dogs, cats and ours, port will definitely prefer our 3 firsts over theirs.

Whatever extra money that Richmond offer can be made up in off field endorsements.

So don't think Richmond will be a serious contender.

The real question is , will port ask for players on top of picks?

That could drastically change the landscape, as finding players who would be ok to move to/move back to SA could ultimately determine who wins the race for his services.
I’m staggered as to how the Cats are in the running, with what assets? A bunch of late firsts? They would have to give up a player or two surely

Is it a tough pill though? He’s still in the top handful of elite mids in the comp and will be on $100k more than Perryman. Assuming he can maintain the rage for at least 2 more years I think it’s a fantastic investment. $600k is way unders for a player of his calibre, even at his age.

It's only 1M per season, he's worth every cent.
Reckon we'll bring in a FA key forward as Walter and King look out of the equation.
Also think there will be a Houston like left field trade come our way.

We'll draft the best mid with our 1st.

Bring in Rowell end of next year.
If the dimma situation continues to unravel at GC, the chances of rowell coming back to Melbourne will only increase.

So I am going to continue to wish that Dimma's tenure in GC continues to get worse.

It is to a certain extent, especially when you have to factor in the injury risk for someone of his age and the position he plays.

But again , we can give him a contract that is worth 3 million , and pay most of it within the first 2 years.

I agree he is a fantastic investment, we just have to avoid going into the last year of his contract where we have to owe him something close to or over 600k.

What time frame has Oscar Steene been given? Is an ACL recovery automatically 12 months? Imagine getting him back into a midfield with Nick, Neale and an early draftee who’s ready to go
There is the recovery aspect, but there is also the mental aspect and getting back to his base form prior to injury.

By the start of the next season, he should be ready from a physical sense.

The big challenge will be to bring him along in a manner where he becomes comfortable leaping at ruck contests with a surgically repaired knee.

As we all know , the boy has a massive leap, there will be a little hesitation at the start which he will have to get over and learn to trust his knee again.

I honestly would have him returning by round 8 next year.

Jimmy one of the only normal people on that panel

That's another thing people aren't able to grasp. We could lose over 1000 games of experience if sidey, pendles and howe call it time.

We would also be losing them right as we have a large influx of young players.

So having neale take over the midfield mentoring will be immense.

No idea who this bloke is but he just appeared in my feed and he absolutely nailed it.

That is a very good video especially the last bit about Nick Daicos

This is exactly how I feel about it.

We're not here to f*** spiders, we're here to win flags, especially while we have a generational talent like Nick.

Who wants to see Nick do a Bont at the Dogs - early success followed by years of coulda shoulda woulda? Not me.

Surely we will be trading Bobby to a WA club? Even though he hasn’t been committed to us, I think he still has some currency. Otherwise we don’t trade.

It feels like it'd be a salary dump, although with the breach of contract you'd think his salary would have to be on the verge of dumping itself.

At this rate he’s not going to have any interested parties willing to take on his baggage. He’s running the risk of being out of the system completely if he can’t fulfill the terms of his contract.

I knew Pendles lived in Willy early days, and Fly does now. Maxy lived in Spotty, then went up market to Willy. Didn't know Howie lived in Willy, haven't seen him around. If my daughter knew, she'd be stalking him!!
Maybe I got Howie wrong. I thought Sidey got himself in trouble visiting Howe after an injury and a late night nude exit one year when Eddie was President and Bucks coach?
