No idea where I land on Parish. He’s having his best season in a few years, particularly his disposal by foot, which seems to have taken the place of that elite clearance play from 21-23. I’d prefer Neale, but he’s playing well and is somehow still just 28 years old
He has great ball reading ability at CB and stoppage - cheap enough he’s a yes from me.

120% he will be a Hawk next year
Aren’t all their picks going to go to Essendon for Merrett?
Amarty and Mitch Lewis. Yay or nay. Amarty is a bit flukey but I see the ‘power’ sides all having dual, or more, options up forward whilst we try and craft one decent players and a Buller or the like into the side. Big Dan, Amarty and Lewis as a different mix up forward appeals greatly to me.
I can’t do NQR forward anymore

Try and keep our first rounder, in the hope that we maybe get a player as good as Humphrey.

I know which I would rather.
Humphrey would cost at least 2 first round picks (a price I’d pay). But he also has to want to come here

Amartey- has improved, impact and consistency. But just not quite there for the market cost $.
Lewis- injury prone, wants to stay and reportedly close to signing.

We need more. Membrey gets knocked but he has functioned in this space. Not sure now. When all options don’t appeal a change in criteria can be necessary. At the moment search and watch the impact of the two MSD selections.

They are, but I do query the balance of their talent. A lot of guys on that team are super attacking, and they don’t seem to strike a balance there in their midfield especially.

Leppa always impressed me when he had a match day role with us, so wouldn’t surprise me if he had a big role there too.
My sauce told me Leppa was game day, Hardwick handled the front office. 😉

I'd definitely take him for a Jack Steele / Tom Mitchell / Clayton Oliver type trade. Massive upgrade on Long and it's clear we really just need a decent inside mid to complement Naicos.

We should be looking to do a cheap Tom Mitchell type top up of an older out of favour inside mid to partner Nick every 2-3 years.

Wisbey thinks Coe and Pods are very long odds to make it
Hardly going out on a limb in stating two MSD picks are long odds to make it!

Pods will make it. I've been watching him for a while. Coe is going to be ok as well
I'd give McCreery as a trade but not Steene as well. Essendon tried to get a ruckman last year and were unable to pick one up. Moyle is very average, Marshall has more concussions that Joe Frazier. Madden is a future star, I pointed him out from his under 18s days and you won't be getting him for less than a first rounder. I want butters but I don't want to be left with a side that has the 2 best midfielders and nothing else, which is what will happen if we persue butters. Butters will be at footscray or Essendon next year because they're probably the only 2 with enough collateral. King is the one we'll persue. Add the 3 first rounders that Port will want on top of McCreery and Steene and the loss of pendles, Howe and sidey to come and we'll be a 2 man team. I think the love affair some have with butters is worse than the love affair some have with losing players.
I think it’s timely to revisit our discussion on page 98 around the availability of low cost rucks. We now get to test it out with Coe. Me I’d be surprised if he can’t match Steene’s output not because I necessarily think he’ll be a player, but more that Steene’s output was relatively meh. The hype was purely based on his one **** off trait being highly desirable. He’s categorically a better state league footballer than Steene so it’s an interesting one to track.

If I were taking a punt I’d be back Pod in as well. When opportunity meets availability and effort good things tend to happen and he’ll receive the most opportunities, IMO.

If he can stay healthy bring him over. We should rescue all we can from Hirdy

I don’t mean to be pessimistic but I will happily sit back and watch. We have had many players that struggle with stepping up and game plans. I can’t pick how new players will fit in. All three to work is very remote. We seem to have picked late developers. I will enjoy the journey.

Would we be in the hunt for Gruzewski from GWS?

I've liked what I've seen of him.
Yes please!!!
I hope we're chasing Gruzewski AND Jed Walter!
Both somewhat starved of opportunity and better than anything else we've got up forward. Much better chance of landing one/both of them than pipe-dreams such as King, Butters or Humphrey.
