Umm, Collingwood is offering Daicos roughly $2m a year for 9 years. It's highly unlikely he would get an offer much bigger than that.
The only scenario where that's "less money" now would be if he was considering Tasmania for the huge sign-on bonus.

And even if your conjecture was correct, that there's less money being offered now, so what? Contracts can be re-negotiated at any time. I raise the Bailey Smith example again; signed long-term upon but still got a payrise a year later.
Richmond are prepared to butters and AAV salary close to 3 millions for the first few years of his contract.

Nick would absolutely shatter that if he hit the open market.

Bailey Humphrey is a very over rated player. Can do the odd mercurial thing but that's about it

Overrated perhaps if people see him as a club saviour here but he clearly has many suitors for a reason. I wouldn’t say no to a 21yo De Goey type of player, let alone the potential for even higher heights if his development takes off.

He is a better version of McCreery, won't be a high possie getter and a bit flashy at times, not worth the $$$$, will fit perfectly in the FIGJAM team the Hawks have

I'm not seeing any midfield potential in him either. They can overpay for him

I tend to agree. Feel like he is a big tease.

Obviously a very talented explosive player, but does he do enough over four quarters? Can see him be a match winner in the mould of JDG, but for what he would cost, I don’t think he is the gun midfielder we need.

I keep seeing an interview from the Bulldogs CEO Ameet Bains, I assume last night, saying they have cap space etc. And this isn't the first time he or other Dogs hierarchy have gone to air with this. Talking about how they've lost JUH and maybe 1 or 2 others without really replacing them.

Don't get me wrong, most Bulldogs players would be happy and even happier that Butters could come across, but it has to be dangerous chat, doesn't it?

If I'm the manager of Artie Jones, Buku Khamis, Michael Sellwood or Nick Coffield and I'm actually wanted for next year, I'm listening closely. Likewise if I'm OOC next year and looking to extend.
