If he keeps playing well he’ll come into selection consideration pretty quickly imo has got aerobic engine so no issue about running out afl games.

I’d assume it would have more to it that, you can always coach up a player to be more defensive.

Yeah it's coachable but it's his main flaw

Teams are playing more and more defensively suspect players in the back half to create run and dare, Roberts falls into this category. The dream is to draft the Quaynor or Idun who can do both to an elite level.

There’s plenty of players that have defensive flaws in underage footy that don’t significantly drop in the draft. I’d say there would be other reasons why he dropped as well

Archie Roberts Draft Profile

Archie Roberts is an aggressive rebounder out of the back half with penetrative kicking and a strong speed-endurance mix.

Sometimes players just slide because they aren't the type teams need to take higher in the draft. It's not 'hard' to find running small-medium offensive defenders so teams tend to go for the harder to find types earlier in the draft. Haven't read anything to suggest it was more than just what it seems. Has a few deficiencies and not in a position that tends to go high in the draft.

Seems to have little problem hitting the scoreboard off a wing. With an obvious small forward weakness, Id like us to try him up there in a Brent Daniels
