I think I might be really starting to hate St.Kilda, might re-watch the those grand finals they were in for a laugh.
That's not quite the way Tom Browne (who was the one who broke the story) is reporting it.
He's saying the offer wasn't accepted only "at this stage" and the Tigers are "clearly circling", implying their interest is definitely still strong.
Anyway ... the best part is that St K is now at genuine risk of losing him.

Do we hold out hope given St Kilda is only Jake's preferred destination? Has it been said it's his only destination?
Yeah, I don't disagree with any of that.
I reckon the "at this stage" line is quite possibly code for Essendon not necessarily rejecting the actual trade itself, though - but maybe needing more time to see if and how something like that can be accommodated.
That's obviously a huge guess from me, of course.

We'd do the same thing if the shoe was on the other foot. Ignoring what some lunatics on their board are saying, I don't think they've been particularly unreasonable so far. The highest price that they are going to have to pay is Pick 5.
That being the case, they know that they can get the deal done at the last minute of the trade period with that pick. They also know that they will most probably get the deal done easily with anything up to pick 10, so they will use the time between now and then to try and get that later pick between 6 and 10, and in the process stay in the first round of the draft.

Thing is Essendon really want that pick 5 to go with their 4, everything after 5 is a lottery.
On Hawthorn, Would pick 18 and Jed Anderson be adequate?
