Given the current situation, I'd be taking the pick 20-something off the table and asking just for pick 5. If the safety net is the Hawks deal, then this is win-win-win-win for Essendon, considering Jake was always leaving. Fair play to him too, he didn't have to go so far to ensure Essendon got such good value for him.

They could have made a half decent offer in the last 3 days and this would have been done, trading 5 for carlisle and 25 and ended up with Carlisle and Freeman for pick 5. You'd better hope they nail that pick 5 at the draft.
