Seriously though, well played if you get 15 + 18 that is almost Danger level compos. Absolutely huge result. Still think the ball is in our court to cough up 5, we are just not in a position to pay that much this early in a rebuild particularly when we have other holes in our list. We won't do it, but understand why the Hawks would. It is North that has me baffled.

We needed Carlisle need to come out and say I will only play for the Saints. He didn't, so it will be the Hawks for sure. We take pick 5 to the draft.

Smells like Jake wants to be a Hawk. Makes little sense that he'd damage the future of his new club(ie Saints), by denying them a top 5 youngster to play with in the future. If he wants Saints he would say 'deal only with them'. Now he seems like he's on our side in getting us our best deal possible... strange dealings indeed.

- Had a chat to Graham Wright, Hawks then put together a deal quickly, complete pros

- Saints are not trading no.5 under any circumstances, if they did, it would have been done in first 5 mins on Monday

- not a choice of deals between Saints and Hawks - there is NO deal from St Kilda

- Carlisle has spoken to Hawks, had amicable discussions

- We need to do what is best for the club, that's the Hawks deal

- We'd still prefer JC stayed, very valuable player

- He's worth a very, very high pick. We've been offered 2x first rounders and we think thats fair

- DODO: If Jake is happy to go, deal is done, period.

- Robbo believes Hawks have landed Carlisle so it's done - Dodo not sure

- EFC preference is to go to the draft - if possibility to make trades for some of the first five picks, may look at it, but unlikely

- A number of other clubs made contact re Carlisle in the last two days as the Saints delayed

- Never thought we'd lose Leuenberger, rapt to have him, replaces Paddy.

- JC is overseas, hasn't done Hawks medical but that's not a problem - EFC and HFC doctors have a good relationship and will meet.

He basically agreed that if they get the ok from JC they'll trade with the Hawks first thing tomorrow morning.

It didn't sound like bluff to me, the club and Carlisle want to look after each other and the Hawks are facilitating it.

i think they(HFC) know it's a bargain.... they're paying unders and they know it...
Really they should be the ones trying to get u guys a top 10...

But seriously, won the last three flags... they want him... best, most stable club around... their #1 key backman has just retired... they've already put together a deal which immediately gets him to the club... not based in Frankston...

Unless it's a huge haircut in wages he'd have to be mental not to go.

As much as I hate those campaigners, right now they are ok. The tears from the stains fans are delicious.

On a serious note, said to a mate at work prior to the GF that he'd be a good fit for them ( yeah I know, not the Lone Ranger), so it's no surprise to see them make a play for him.

If, as Dodoro just said on SEN, St Kilda were never going to trade pick five, why would they have pitched so hard to him? Surely they'd have known we would want more than their second round pick and planned accordingly. Smacks of a serious lack of professionalism or they thought they'd get him through the PSD.

Either way, eat shit St Blunder.
