Who would have guessed that this awkward, lanky basketball playing kid would be our next player in the 300 club? This clip is a real reminder how long ago and how much time has passed since he debuted. Congrats on 300 games to the big Goldsteiner 💪🍺

Great clip.

A key player suspended for being a bit loose off field and “inconsistency”was a hallmark of North Melbourne’s season… Feels like only yesterday. Literally.

Well done to Goldy, his performances largely forced out excellent players in McIntosh and Hale, and 300 games later no other pretender has really come close to doing the same.

The 300th game for North Melbourne

Wayne Schimmelbusch - Round 4, 1987 - Won 19.22-136 vs Geelong 18.19-127 - Kardinia Park
Glenn Archer - Round 13, 2007 - Won 17.9-111 vs Western Bulldogs 11.19-85 - MCG
Adam Simpson - Round 12, 2009 - Lost 3.6-24 vs Adelaide 9.14-68 - Football Park
Brent Harvey - Round 21, 2010 - Won 16.14-110 vs West Coast 14.10-94 - Subiaco Oval
Drew Petrie - Round 7, 2016 - Won 11.16-82 vs St.Kilda 11.9-75 - Docklands

**Keith Greig played his 300th game in the 1985 finals against the Bulldogs. But in the 70s players missed club games to play State-of-Origin so these games were initially added to club games tallies. Eventually this was changed so Greig now sits at 294.

Thanks for conveniently leaving Grants 300th off that list MM.

Worst fukcing day at the footy that was

No because he's not Jewish. Mum is Australian.

Whilst it's true that Todd is not Jewish, the reason is not because his mother is Australian. For the record, Harry Sheezel's mother is Australian as are tens of thousands of Australian Jewish mothers. Judaism is not a nationality. The point you were meaning to make is that Todd's mum is not a Jew, and Jewish tradition states that the religion passes through maternal lines - the children of a Jewish mother tend to be raised as Jews whereas children of a Jewish father and a gentile mother are not necessarily expected to be raised as Jews.

Like John Blakey, Nick Dal Santo and Gary Dempsey, Shannon Grant played his 300th at North Melbourne, but not 300 for North Melbourne. All of them lost on their 300th League game. But, yeah - Grant's 300th was especially shitful.

Mick Martyn is the only North Melbourne player to play 300 games, but not play his 300th at North. His 300th, and last, game was a loss at Carlton.

Incredible for a bloke his size who runs as many KMs as he does

Anyone who saw the awkward greasy haired lanky slob dressed in torn tracky dacks and ripped t-shirt at his first Players’ BBQ at Arden St, a week or so after we drafted him, would be amazed at how far he’s come.

His best mate lives in my street and this week I told him about that BBQ sighting. He, having grown up with Todd and played basketball together throughout, said “Yeah, he was a mess, and that sounds like how he appeared every weekend when hanging out as teens.”

He’s a credit to himself and I hope he smashes F***Witts this Sunday as he’s been a nemesis of sorts for Goldy over the journey.

Congrats Goldy! 👏
