26 from 29, 26 from 30, and expectations

I've noticed the commentators are already talking about us as a team who has won X many games from our last X - which is getting quite annoying. I like the compliment to a degree - but it's really over-exaggarating (sp?) our achievements and results of late. Basically we've had the on good year, but we need to back it up..

Anyways, as well, it's good to see there isn't a lot of over recting going on in here after 1 loss.

1) I prefer to not get any mad streaks, it leads to way too much expectations

2) Port have had us for a while, and just out played us as we turned it over

3) We were 3 solid players down (notwithstanding they might have been without a few also?)

4) You can't win them all, but the main thing is to get the structures right, the game plan, and find out faults out DURING the season

4-1, game plan still ok, working out the kinks and life without Roo

I'm only fine with it for 50 and above, shows that a side has maintained quality for 2 and a bit seasons instead of "pulling a Hawthorn" popping up for a premiership, pissing back off due to factors and then limping a bit. But out of 30? Get stuffed.

My first visit to the board since the weekend and I knew things like this would be occurring.

First of all. I believe our effort on Saturday night was the worst game we have played since early 2008. Port were up for it and they took their chances and could have been further in front had they converted earlier. Testament to our game plan in that we were right in the game until about 2 mins to go when we were completely outplayed for the majority of the night.

Secondly. Checked the ladder today? I see the Top 4 reads; Sydney, St.Kilda, Collingwood, Freo. All of these sides have lost 1 game. 3 of these sides have lost to St.Kilda. 2 of them defeated sans Riewoldt.

Thirdly. I agree with the OP, these records are annoying, but we can thank our lucky stars Geelong have their own hot patch going, because we'd have even more attention on it.

I'm pretty happy that we can play that bad, and only lose by 10pts...

We're gonna lose games this year, there will be no streak. We just need to hope that HOW we are losing isn't something that can't be fixed.
