Give a much better inpression of his potential. Hearing he had no preseason adds to the curiosity.

Wasn't wrapped that we didn't take a project tall but have come around to trying a kid with zip who can run it upfield.

At the moment we only have McKercher and Stephens with any kind of form in running roles in 2025.

So I assume we are focusing on those with that particular skillset. Folks can dislike the Spargo selection for one example, but his job will be to work up and down the ground at a fair clip. I actually think BOABBanch & Dovaston will be able to do the same.

Doubt Konstanty can, Phillips couldn't. Hansen Jnr could but he won't be involved in the play. Payne couldn't , Harvey can't.

Doubt Konstanty, Harvey & Hansen Jnr are on our list in 2027, so makes sense that we focus elsewhere that on talls.

Be excited we have spent years drafting kids that would have starred in the 80's.

I'm delighted with this pick. I have scouted Hugh since 2016 and have been moderately pleased with his rate of improvement, particularly his kicking and tackling technique. His Dad played over 150 junior games of Korfball so we know he has the talent.

I had a chat to his coach at a triathlon last week during the swim leg and it was hard to understand but I think he thinks he can at least make it in the VFL so onwards and sideways from there.

I think we just get our favourites from You Tube and get a bit narky when they're overlooked. Ironically, some of them don't even get drafted at all.
