In the next at Pakenham - omen bet? At 80-1 seems unlikely.

The club channel highlights clips for all 3 boys are pretty poor.

However these:

Give a much better inpression of his potential. Hearing he had no preseason adds to the curiosity.

Wasn't wrapped that we didn't take a project tall but have come around to trying a kid with zip who can run it upfield.

At the moment we only have McKercher and Stephens with any kind of form in running roles in 2025.

He looks like someone Geelong would pick out of thin air and quietly develop into a reliable premiership HF/wing 200 gamer.

Suppose the above is that answer, now we have finally woken up to the fact you need players that can work hard between the arch's.

So I assume we are focusing on those with that particular skillset. Folks can dislike the Spargo selection for one example, but his job will be to work up and down the ground at a fair clip. I actually think BOABBanch & Dovaston will be able to do the same.

Doubt Konstanty can, Phillips couldn't. Hansen Jnr could but he won't be involved in the play. Payne couldn't , Harvey can't.

Doubt Konstanty, Harvey & Hansen Jnr are on our list in 2027, so makes sense that we focus elsewhere that on talls.

Be excited we have spent years drafting kids that would have starred in the 80's.
Harsh on JK. Seems to have come back in ripping condition.

Welcome to our club Hugo, sometimes its easy to focus on the higher draft picks but I've a feeling your going to earn your keep, very excited to watch your growth and play and the only advice I can give you is to work as hard as you can, listen to the coaches, take nothing for granted & play your natural game, we are all behind you young man and next year show what you can do and take no prisoners!

I had to look up phrenologist. Im just curious that’s all, it’s an unusual name. I don’t like you insinuating anything else.
Idiot - pretty bloody obvious. Phrenologist - a person who studies phrens, ffs.

I'm delighted with this pick. I have scouted Hugh since 2016 and have been moderately pleased with his rate of improvement, particularly his kicking and tackling technique. His Dad played over 150 junior games of Korfball so we know he has the talent.

I had a chat to his coach at a triathlon last week during the swim leg and it was hard to understand but I think he thinks he can at least make it in the VFL so onwards and sideways from there.

VFL? His footy coach? That’s kinda deflating.

Why the melts ? An athlete who can kick .. other sides are full of these types and we are not . Great pick.

I think we just get our favourites from You Tube and get a bit narky when they're overlooked. Ironically, some of them don't even get drafted at all.

I'm on board - hopefully he'll keep out a player who we know won't deserve a game.

On the footage, he moves and pounces like a young Glenn Archer.

We're dying for a small defender to lock down on opposition livewires.

Let it be him.

This kid maybe great maybe shit. And if he's shit at least he will do that at a fair clip.

**** me with the amount of slow shit footballers we've endured over the years, this is a pleasant change.
Anyways I'm backing him in .

And glad we didn't take a tall for the sake of taking a tall. As I don't think we need one. If we can somehow get to a stage where we're challenging we will get a decent FA as a ready to go fwd option.

Not all footballers want the big stage weekly. And Norths money is the equal of all clubs.
