We sing from the same hymm book on this. I was hoping they would be have given him a run on ball for a quarter or two this year.
Cam has shown a bit as a small pressure forward but he’s not ready to play on ball and I don’t see the need.

Apart from the fact that he’s way too small (watching him last night was like a feisty 12 year old playing against men), the team needs a small pressure forward (like Puopolo or castagna) that we know what we are getting week in, week out. Cam can be that player.
Different player to Fish..

Would absolutely love it if Polson made it. Has been maligned since he started but he tries harder than anyone out on the ground. People focus too much on disposals, pressure acts are more important in my opinion. I can’t get upset at a player who tries his heart out every game. The players that annoy me are the ones that just go through the motions. Polson isn’t one of those players.

At this stage of his development I wouldn't pidgeon hole him. Not saying he was ready this year for a permanent role but rather to see how he went for a quarter or two as either a starting mid or winger. He played mid in the VFL and got good numbers so I think there is something there to work with.

No real issues with his height, when you compare him with Caleb Daniel.

Yep, absolutely needs to be played up the ground, as he's far more effective as link-up player.

Comfortably his best game for the club, and a nice little injection of confidence for him going into the off-season.

I agree it’s all about development; that’s why allowing him to develop as a small pressure forward is more important to cam and the team. Let’s be honest..he’s lucky to have remained in the team after numerous ordinary games, so needs confidence and form in that role before being thrown on the ball. More than happy to give him a go there in the years to come.
It’s more about size with Cam. Caleb Daniel and Lochie Neil are the same height, but would have 8 kg on him.

We are on the same track re development just slightly differing approach.

If not for the injuries he plays less games and would have played more mid time in the VFL. I haven't been negative on the games he has played. He has shown a huge appetite for working hard since he returned and gradually has improved his disposals and involvements.

By the by , Daniel is the smallest 167, and lightest 72kg, Neale the heaviest 82kg and same height as Cam 177 who weights in at 76kg.

Had his best game by a mile, still don't rate him.

Seems a good kid and plays in a way where you want him to succeed though, without a doubt. Just don't think he is rounded enough to be in a good side but he is 20 and can certainly develop other qualities.

Basically the antithesis of Liam Sumner.

Can someone put together a highlights package of his work from last night. I can't put myself through watching the game.
Some of those awesome gifs would be
......well.....awesome
It's not quite a package, but here's one particular moment that stood out to me. Great endeavour and run down tackle. He then slotted the goal from the proceeding free kick.

Has some of the tools to be very good but needs a better team and more time in the system. Speed and mindset look good. A lot of small forwards take a long time to make it so he's still in some pretty early days.

Very happy the club gave Cam an extended run in the seniors. Gives the kids time to adjust to the tempo. Wasn't getting much of the ball however was giving effort. Will give him alot of confidence over the preseason. This appears to be a bit of a theme as the MC have done similar with Dow, O'Brien and SPS. Will hold the club in great stead long term.

I'm a big fan of that sort of relentless hunting.

It's Richmond-style.

Great find at pick 60-something, a genuinely valuable role player.

Something it seems SOS is adept at finding ….. need 15 more of these rough in the diamond types ;)

Bit of a message sent out to a few who finished the season in the reserves. If you chase with intent and tackle then you're infront of those who don't. I like how this is being developed into our team. This has been what was wrong with all Carlton teams since the early 2000's and what's right with everyone winning premierships.
