Outside of the big midfield names of South Australia, they also have a group of 5-10 midfielders in that second tier. One of the interesting things for me was seeing which of these guys got the first opportunity in the Championships, and which of them stood up. And Riley Knight is certainly one who has stood up, both playing through the midfield and across half forward. And the half forward role that he has been given, is largely a new one for him having been quite an accomplished inside midfielder in the SANFL. While he isn't really a goal sneak type half forward, he has elite endurance and a strong defensive game. And as a midfielder he is real accumulator, with clean disposal. Again, he might not be the most damaging player, but he is a solid player and can perform in a number of roles. He is one player that I could see going earlier than maybe expected.

Medium midfielder who plays with attitude and hunger for the contest. Has excellent work rate and combination of speed and elite endurance. His work ethic, ball-winning ability and strong tackling are assets. Good performer in AFL Under 18s for SA, which took out the NAB AFL Under 18 Championships for the first time.

Had never heard of this kid until we picked him. Interesting to note though that Paige said in her profile that in terms of potential, knight would be right up there in the top 10.....

Couldn't have picked a better time to bring in a reserve side then it seems. Just gotta find the right key to unlocking this "potential" now.

Little disappointed we didn't go for someone with more elite leg / elite speed type skills, but this guy seems a well rounded player that can play anywhere across the ground and is well balanced in all attributes, with his safe kicking, ferocity and gut running the stand outs apparently.
