Bullshit. When we lost to GWS people said it was pathetic and embarrassing, that is still 100% true and will forever remain 100% true. When certain posters were criticising the game plan because players were bombing it long in terrible forward entries, that was 100% true and the fact we are no longer doing it doesn't change the fact that we were.

Criticism of the team when it was playing like shit is as valid as praise of the team when it is now playing well.

My point was to specific criticisms of players or personnel that, in retrospect, were unwarranted or where folks were just plain wrong about things.

When we're flying it's 'WE are the best' but when times are tough it's often 'He is the problem'.

I'm not saying it's wrong to be critical. I was critical of Rampe early on but later admitted I'd misjudged him. No big deal, just the right thing to do.

As a side note, for me, seeing a full forward line, huge depth and a rejuvenated Goodes coming slowly up to full steam goes some way to mitigating the pain of our loss to GWS. It suggests to me that Horse took the view that it was better to build our team carefully to a strong finish in September (marathon style) than to come out sprinting like GWS and collapse after a few rounds (they're so crippled that now they can't even beat the Hawks). To be beaten over the first 100m of a 10k race is no big deal. When we hold up the cup that loss will be worth zip.

The Pyke injury kind of forced the coaching staff into having one less tall than some of us had feared. Whether or not one of them would have been dropped when Tippett came back from injury is a mystery we may never know, but it's doubtful they will go with 2 ruckman given recent success with the part timers.

But yeah it is working well, Buddy's athleticism and tackling pressure pretty much eliminates any issue with height. Love his defensive efforts.

We're fortunate to have big men who are extremely mobile. To see Tippet turn on a dime or Goodes play like a (huge) small forward is pretty exciting. I'm tipping for Goodes to dominate over the next two games. All the focus will be on our two talls and Goodes is due to break out.

1. Without their veteran backmen, Geelong are a very ordinary team.

2. Swans will have many years of success to look forward to with Buddy & Tippett leading a very strong forward line

3. The midfield is probably the best & deepest ever seen in the AFL.

1. There is only one thing that can ruin a 110 point win against a champion side like the cats, having the game called by 'BT' & 'Darce'. Absolute flogs of the highest order...Dwayne is horrible with his stupid catch phrases he repeats over and over but at least he calls the play....I DO NOT give a f about Richo's pants or how curly Tippett's hair is...call the god damn play! Coverage should be about what's going on the ground not about the flogs in the commentary box.

2. The one negative about a near complete performance was once again the horrid goal kicking in the first half, we've done this against Freo, Hawks and now Cats...we've gotten away with it so far but it's the sort of stuff that could cost us big time in a knock out final, when games are a lot hotter and generally a lot lower scoring.

3. The 4 pronged attack is working Beautifully, Reid is getting right up the ground and providing a marking target on the wings (which means he's dragging the defender most likely to zone off out of the forward line), Goodes is doing what he does best, just roaming where he pleases. While Tippett and Buddy are separately brilliantly on going deep with one pushing up to 60m out. Generating heaps of one on ones. Has to be stuck woth I think, so a big no playing both Pyke and D-rex, slows the side down to much. Also keep the above 4 (if fit obviously) over the urge to play an additional runner, it would throw the way the forward line functions completely out of whack.
Much better than last year where Jesse would allow his opponent to zone off him, or would take him to the contest...or even himself spoil his teammate by going up for the same mark. (Sorry Jesse, you improved, but you were the main offender here...there were others though)

Jack2Jack,

If I could give you a thousand Likes for the first Point, I would in less than a heartbeat.. Until Channel 7 does something about this, I will continue to watch the vision & listen to the radio call.

Out of play, intentional, high.
You should be referred straight to the Tribunal for that comment.

If you were a Hawks fan you would still be living at home with mummy spending all your time on BF whinging about the Swans and wouldn't have to worry about doing anything with your 'girlfriend'...
