Did Mihocek with all his strength and size try to wiggle his shoulders and hips to get out of the tackle? Or did he do the old flop knee drop once he knew he had being nailed by Chom. I think the latter as he is a strong lad and Chom ain’t no Mr Universe.

choms never gonna be the shrpest tool on the shed. sure he cracks in, mostly to his detriment re injuries but i dont see a long term member of a successfull campagn in him,

This is what I saw looking at the replay.

As soon as Mihocek felt the pressure he drops the ball (free should have been awarded then) and just goes limp, with no effort to work against Chom OR protect himself. Had plenty of ability to brace for impact, but he just let himself be tackled, I assume to draw a free for holding the man.

Rewarding players for taking actions that lead to them being hurt is a bad model, but the AFL persists with it.
