Senior 30. Jack Ison

Full credit to the commentator in the VFL game who after Jack drilled a goal from a set shot, announced "he's got Ison his veins". I reckon that'll get a run in a headline or two over Jacks career.
Dwayne will have about 20 play on words ready for Saturday night. Hopefully we get to hear them all

Look...I'm happy he's getting his chance...and I'm not saying he doesn't deserve it...but does it feel sometimes like the Marketing team have a significant say in selection?
You’re probably right BB.

I think the special edition paintings of Ison’s selection is a bit over the top…😀

He's a very talented player, he's probably coming into the side a little raw. He has been recruited as a midfielder and has been developed as a forward by us and has taken to it like a duck to water.

He hasn't had really any midfield time in the VFL so I suspect that he will be coming in and playing forward.

Very good kick and overhead game, has good skills and seems a smart player.

We are developing him well. If we brought him in as a midfielder and only played him there and only developed him as a midfielder then we would get what we have now. A bunch of midfielders who can't play anywhere else and that kills our rotations. It also kills their careers. Look at Cripps, we should have developed Cripps like this, then he would be able to rest forward and impact there a lot better. The development of Cripps V the development of Ison is chalk and cheese and this puts Ison and us in better stead going into the future.

What we will end up with is that really talented forward/mid that we have been crying out for for years.

Looking forward to his debut, not expecting him to be a gamebreaker first up but he will do some things that we will really like.

Very excited to see him debut. He's currently sitting equal 4th in VFL goal-kick ladder. No mean feat for a first year player.

I’d be excited to see a half forward line of Ison Kemp Moir sometime next year. That has some real run, marking power and ex-factor / skill to burn. Just release the list…….

I laughed when I heard that. I’ve been telling people about this kid and one day they’ll hear “Ison the game” after he kicks the sealer in a match.

He was recruited as a utility. Jack played all over the place leading into his top age campaign with varied success. Trained as a midfielder over pre season leading into that year but had a major set back so went back to playing half forward most of the season. Was only around the mid season bye when he started seeing some proper midfield minutes for Scotch College and eventually for the Chargers once the APS fixture had concluded.

Glad to see him playing so well for us forward of the ball at VFL level for now, but make no mistake, he can play most positions on the ground fairly well. Just a natural footballer.

Yep. Just need to be realistic in expectations. He is raw and needs to keep building engine

I expect a few moment where people just go WOW. He will likely play forward but I expect him to be a mid in 2027

Gut feel is he will handle step up better than most. He has that mentality

I’ll take it 😎🤣

Could have had three goals tonight.

Looked at home in the 1s!!
5 There were two head high tackles worse than the one he got

Makes a difference having players that can kick In The side

Noticed he was in The top five fastest players for the game
