Miller's a chance to debut this week, but after the Samson Ryan experience, we might be a bit gun shy.

Cant believe the flank this young man is getting …. Guess what he’s played more AFL games than me and anyone else around hereHis VFL form has been surprisingly good and I understand why he was given a debut, but he was very unlucky given the combination of poor conditions and the knock he got, plus the woeful performance of the team in general. I wouldn’t mind backing him in for a decent 2nd game against the Suns depending on weather, I reckon he can grasp the forward/2nd ruck role even at this early stage of his career, but if not right now, then in the near future. But right now I’m leaning towards Parker coming in as a forward in his place.

Dont see why we shouldnt give him a second game. Trying to beat the suns means nothing. Might as well give the kids a crack and If we win well then yay. I'm not convinced we'd win even if we went all in anyway.
It may have been the worst ever debut in Richmond Football Club history.Dont see why we shouldnt give him a second game. Trying to beat the suns means nothing. Might as well give the kids a crack and If we win well then yay. I'm not convinced we'd win even if we went all in anyway.
Pretty sure kade Simpson got doughnuts in his first 3 games or something. It may have been the worst ever debut in Richmond Football Club history.
Do you need a reason? He's a 206cm ruckman who got only one hit out. There's one.
Its already over, the win or loss next week matters not. Might as well give him another shot rather than ruining his confidence.Might be detrimental to him to leave with that game to go back to VFL. Would be nice to have a game where he finds his feet but a loss would end it next week so best side might have to be the go.
Yes he made Jack Watts first game look sensational and as soon as he was on we were a player short but they and people on here believe he is showing something at VFL so Im curious still.
Well, I knew the conditions were going to be tough and thought he might have a quiet game. He didn't have a quiet game though!DoItForCaptBlood that was me that said he wasn't ready![]()
Jonathan Brown did nothing in his first 3 games as wellPretty sure kade Simpson got doughnuts in his first 3 games or something.
Sending him back after that will destroy his confidence. He needs the club to show confidence in him.

Theres so many negative nancy's on here. It was one game. Yes he struggled (the knock wouldn't of helped) and no the conditions didn't suit. He may of lost a bit of confidence but he would of still learnt a hell of a lot from it. He will bounce back.
Not to mention and abysmal night from a team perspective to play as a forward. 3 goals, say no more. I like the look of him, seems to have proper ruckman's aggression. In the limited time he spent rucking, he at least tried to out position his opponent, well more so than Chol and CCJ. He did that also in the VFL. Knows how to ruck. Would not be against giving him another crack, but against Smith won't have a size advantage and Chol's athleticism will.Well said BB - you would think there were people on here who have had their knee bruised or jarred or a bit of corky have all risen above the same and played meaningful games there after the way are speaking. As for the conditions, you know what, we do get them up here too sometimes so it was not that abnormal - not common - but that is the beauty of footy - you play in what you get - no grizzles - no grumbles - 22 of you in it together!
The match committee sure did surprise with this selection and if any criticism is due it might be on them. However, as much as I question his selection, the match committee just have to suck it up now and learn from it - not the first or the last.
He played in a game where we kicked our lowest score at the MCG for 95 years. It may have been the worst ever debut in Richmond Football Club history.

Gotta say it is odd how we kept someone like CCJ and RCD out until they are really ready but then throw kids like Ryan and Martyn earlier in the year in tough conditions before they are ready. We should have protected him and not played him. Hes a good development player and no idea why are we trying to cook him early
