I’m writing this and realising how hard that would actually be to navigate but geez… Samson is just so disappointing. I wonder if he has issues with his hips or something because he’s always off balance and falling over.

I disagree. His selection by MC is to try not to make the stupid 3 year contract by Blair/Livingston look so shit. No way selection decisions are being directed by Yze. It’s the old guard protecting their list management and draft selections.

He was passable against Port as the #1 ruck coming off an injury and limited pre season but if we are going to put him as #2 ruck off the bench it is a complete waste of space and puts pressure on us with rotations.

44% TOG and it’s basically ruck or nothing with him.
If you’re fresh off the bench you can’t be immediately gassed and offer nothing when the ball hits the deck.

OHB would’ve been better as second ruck with similar TOG and physically would’ve matched it with Gawn better.

No strength, no intensity, no heart, no hope.
His biggest asset was his tap work but means nothing when you get bitched at every contest. He is in his mid twenties and hasn't shown any semblance of potential to be a serviceable AFL player.
The three year contract extension was bemusing at the time and baffles the mind even more now.

This isn't an attack on him as a person but he just isn't cut out for the sport.

Pay him out at the end of the year and move on.

You don’t need any gifts or special abilities to lift heavy weights. It’s just application. Times up for this kid. Play OHB instead

He aint no kid - 25 and half years old - sure rucks take longer to develop usually but by 25 years old they show SOMETHING!
Not hating the human himself, but surely they keep playing him trying to desperately see something to justify the faith over the past few years and the dumb contract extension.

Give up Richmond - there aint nothing there - cut him loose - pay him out - whatever.

2 things that really annoy me about him, are his attitude and the way he flops/loses his footing.

He’s constantly whinging and his body language is pathetic.

You’re 25 mate, playing for the club you grew up supporting. Pull your finger out, do the extras in core strength and gym. Utilise the help around you and don’t take this for granted.

I’d be doing whatever I could to put my best foot forward and take the #1 ruck spot. It’s there for the taking and you’re just throwing it away.

Was willing to give him a pass for last week where others didnt. But I think it just showcases how CCJ is even worse than Ryan. Got demolished by a younger ruck yesterday. Biggest thing for me is his lack of strength. At 25 he shouldnt be pushed out of every ruck contest, he's not mobile enough to give that away.

Last night Ryan was deplorable. In any physical contests, be it in the ruck or marking contests, He continues to fold like a Temu Banana Lounge!!! His Muppet hands were also clearly on display and he couldn't mark a Kinder Surprise in a match full of diabetics.
