I'd rather Viney come in and play the high half forward role and omit Laurie.

I'd rather Viney plays in the VFL until he shows enough form to justify replacing someone in a winning team.

i've been a critic of Sparrow at times but i can't deny his improvement has been pretty substantial this year, even after a bit of a slow start.
those damn Demonland nuffies are making me look like a clown for laughing at them saying Sparrow will step up this year in the absence of Trac and Oliver

He's gone from being my most disliked player to one of my favs within the time span of 6 weeks.

I never disliked him, always said you can see he works hard and is a complete professional. There was a period where he wasn't adding much to the team and yet getting games regardless. Might have been a case of not much else to pick from. Anyway happy that he's providing most of us wrong. Losing Trac may have been a blessing in disguise. Sparrow has really stepped up.

Maybe I've just missed it, but I’m not sure I’ve seen you complain about his role once prior to this season. I mostly remember you comparing his role to that of ANB and defending his role as a tagger early last year.

Devil's avocado, considering how good Sparrow and Steele have looked in there and how often we still get smashed in clearances. Viney might come in and look a beast in this new system rotating with those two. Short aggressive midfield stints and then play a bit forward aswell.

Yeah, you've missed it. I've said it in other seasons. But I've always defended his role in the team as being one of the first picked in the team. I've said for years that despite playing HF his defensive stuff is very good. I mean, I think everyone on this board can acknowledge that Tom Sparrow wasn't drafted as a Half forward.

Yeah. After seeing the likes of Sharp, Jeffo and Laurie not looking utterly shit at the level under this coach I’m not going to write anyone else off based on their contest/defence form.

If people think he's the next captain then one thing he needs to learn is how to lead on the field via not just effort metrics.

I love that you play the victim so much you choose to forget I was standing up for Sparrow last year. Did you also miss the first part of my post where I said he'd been unreal for a month?

Also, do you actually understand what a clanger is Dan? Hint - It's not a turnover by foot.
