Anyone know how the 36ers are progressing to recruit Cattalini and Rogers?

If the 36ers get those two, plus Farley returns, what do you think of their chances of defending the title?

I've only read what's been in the paper As, and it looks as if the Cat is quite likely to return next season. Phil has put an offer to Rogers and he's a chance to return (Vlahov has been quoted as saying he's not confident of retaining Rogers) but he could just be trying to raise his price. I'm not holding my breath.

It'd be great to gain both Catallini and Rogers, and if Farley returns, our starting 5 of Maher, Farley, Cat, Nash and Rogers would definitely give us a strong chance of defending the title or at the very least being right there in contention once more.

Ive told you once and ill tell you again Rogers isnt going anywhere...there is no way in hell Perth will let the best big man in the comp go. We have just lost Vlahov so our big man stocks are shortened so its absolutely not going to happen....i'd put my house on it!

Oh yes Jod oh basketball guru, you know everything

Thats up their with your certainties that the Wizards would make the playoffs and that Perth would win.

Anything that will bolster the 36ers frontcourt cannot be a bad thing. I'd love for both Rogers and the Cat to play for us, but I'd take either one.

Could it be because I also notice half the stuff that you type is dribble? Hmm P&P's alias. Could be, I guess, if you disregard the geographical locations of ourselves, one in the NT and the other in Amityville.

What odds are you offering here? Can we say that the bet is your house against my $1.53?

Yeah because the geographical location on your profile is SO hard to change

I see on Sports Tonight the other night that they have Rogers at something like 70% chance of returning to Adelaide. Cat is going to play in Adelaide again next season...he has just bought a house there. Farley rated as 50-50 chance of staying.

If Rogers returns, then Adelaide's Big-man stocks will see them as no longer threatened by the likes of the Wildcats, Titans and Tigers (all three teams, coincidentally or not, have Rogers, Bradtke, and Wheeler as Adelaide's problems!).

Won't happen - Farley is going to the NBA and Rodgers will go to the highest bidder.

Is Farley going to the NBA? :D sorry mate, yes, I know he's leaving but in the event he doesn't make it there he will return to play for the Sixers midway through the season.

Rogers is favoured to resign with Perth but he is being courted by the Sixers and, well, you just never know. I've got my fingers crossed, just as you have :p

The Cat officially signed with the Sixers today for 5 years.

Rogers is 50-50 at best, though more likely to stay with Perth.
We've given him until Wednesday next week to make a decision.

Phil said we have a couple of other players keen to come to Adelaide if Rogers decides to stay put.

It's all looking pretty good for Perth Jod, first Ronaldson, now you'll resign Rogers, the Wildcats looking quite strong again, inspite of the loss of Vlahov and Mottram. :)

Yeah not all is bad in Perth, we should retain Rogers and any team with Rogers, Grace and Harvey should make the playoffs. Then we have Feaster returning for another year and Thmpson and Black as backup guards. The loss of Mottram is easily covered even though i thought he was gonna be pretty good and Vlahov is tough to cover but as much as i hate him Ronaldson is better than nothing. I will reserve judgement on Ronaldson until he plays a few games for us, see if his heart is in it.

Still have the option on another import too so all is not too bad.

Saw on the news tonight that its almost certain that PR is gonna be at the sixers :)

Garth

Yes, I saw that too, the news was that PR has agreed to return to Adelaide and the details of the contract are just being worked out. An announcement expected within 24 hours. However, I'm still unsure, until I see Paul sign on the dotted line I'm not rejoicing quite yet. After Benny Holland's about face last year, anything's possible...

And Channel Ten Adelaide might have incorrect sources, so who knows, but here's hoping :)

The 36ers put in a last minuet million dollar over 5 year bid which looks as though it might see him go back home. We should Know his final decision within the next 24 hours but it looks like you've got your man.

I dont get it?? Adelaide can only offer him the league maximum which os of course what Perth are offering, this aint the NBA you cant outbid eachother??

Ill hate him forever if he leaves? How can Vlahov and Longley let him go! WHERE IS YOUR LOYALTY YOU BASTARD!!!! He better stay or there will be no point in playing next season????
