Have several father/son combinations playing together at our cricket club. It is sensational and worth one playing slightly above his ability or one dropping back a grade or two to allow it to happen.

Never underestimate the value this sort of history and atmosphere can add to a club.

If none of the Silvagni boys turn out to be world beaters, it has still been worth it to the club. Tradition and nostalgia gives us a soul the newer clubs can only dream of.

Had a brother four years older. Never got to play with him but imagine it would be special. My bro was way better than me and I was more into cricket and better at that, than him. The smart arse could kick further on his left foot than I could on my right. Good luck Ben, enjoy the journey and hope you get to play with your bro in same team together one day.

Agree 100%. We're still behind many other sports, particularly American sports, in a lot of ways, but the Father-Son system more than makes up for it. A great rule that creates even better stories.

Tom is meant to be the most prickly of the three of them. Probably got the same genes passed down that Alex got from his great grandfather.

I reckon we have pulled an absolute sneaky with Ben. Held him back so he has cost us bugger all. He can play and is a great size. I don't believe the "doesn't have the desire" stuff being quoted. I see him as very similar to his old man
