What do you think of the following 4 trades?

Should we keep or trade?

If so, what do you think they worth?

Suggestions and if you have any other comments, please share :D
(This is just suggestions as I can be wrong)

Brad Miller
a) Trade to Sydney Swans for 2nd rounder (Pick 25)
b) Trade to Doggies for 2nd rounder (Pick 31/32)
c) Trade to Hawks for 2nd rounder (Pick 23)
d) Combination of upgrade and downgrade picks.

Dogs need KPP FF's and Sydney need a player to replace Hall.
Hawks could use Miller as a defender. Hawks are lacking defence.

Paul Johnson
a) Trade to Richmond for 3rd rounder (Pick 38)
c) 3 way deal involving West Coast and other club for Seaby. This applies if people think Seaby is better than Johnson.
c) Combination of upgrade and downgrade picks.

Richmond might need another ruckman to replace Simmonds.

Simon Buckley
a) Trade for 3rd or 4th rounder (Pick 30's - 40's)
b) Combination of upgrade and downgrade picks.

Lack of opportunites and injury prone. I can't see Buckley will fit into the best 22's.

Daniel Bell
a) Trade to Adelaide for 2nd rounder (Pick 27/28/29)
b) Trade to Port Adelaide for 2nd rounder (Pick 24/25/26)
c) Trade to Hawks for 2nd rounder (Pick 23)
d) Trade to Hawks for 1st rounder with Miller (Pick 8)
e) Trade to Hawks for 1st rounder with Miller and Pick 18 for Pick 8 and 23 (Is this too much?)

Hawks lack defence and Bell will suit as a defender. Could be a Croad replacement.
Combination of Miller and Bell could solve Hawks defence problems.
Bell is South Australian and maybe trade with the 2 Adelaide clubs.

You're over-rating Bell by a huge amount.

Buckley should be persevered with, he's useless on the trade table atm anyway.

I think Miller, PJ and Bell could be good trade options but you seriously overrate our players. Seriously.

Not a chance anyone would give up a second rounder for Miller (lucky to get third rounder) or Bell (lucky to get fourth rounder). The same can be said for PJ (4th rounder more likely).

Buckley on the other hand, should be kept as he has attributes (pace, line-braking mindset) we lack. Yes, disposal needs work but I think he should be given one more chance to get fit and he could really surprise. If we get a great offer for him, (late second round?) then maybe we should reassess.

PJ = Delist
DB = Delist
Buckley = Keep, He has Pace + is Soft + and has terrible Skills. what more do you want in a demon player?
Miller = Make him captain coach of the casey reserves.

Good suggestions KTLK, but I just think you are over-valuing our players a little bit.

The Miller to Sydney option is probably most interesting, given the fact that they were chasing him last season, and after this year, they will be without Hall and O'Loughlin up forward, so they should want him even more.

Hopefully this could lead to a second rounder, but even then I'm still not sure whether Sydney would go for it.

Daniel Bell would not get you pick 300, if it existed.

What he said... 2nd round selections? Please... A pair of footy boots maybe...

And Richmond with Vickery, Graham and Pattison won't need another ruckman... So PJ won't be going there...

Miller is the only one that could possibly happen... And in that case, I'd imagine we'd have to upgrade the 3rd round selection of the club we were trading with...

Teams don't give good picks for players that can barely get a game for the bottom team in the competition

I like that youre sharing your ideas - but Im not sold on any of these. Particularly Bell - I doubt he would be picked up even if he enetered the draft as a free agent.

I dont think we should bother trading too seriously for picks outside the top 25 as this draft seems to taper off significantly after that.

With regard to Miller (or Mclean), I am hoping we can package him up with our 3rd pick and upgrade it to a level that might fetch us Talia. We would probably need pick 12 or better.

I have a feeling that not many trades will actually occur this year - kind of like last year.

Doggie's second rounder at Pick 30 and third rounder Pick 46 for Miller, Robbo and our Pick 50?

Bulldogs wouldn't trade for Robbo. Even if the want him on their list i doubt any other club will, they will most likely let him got the PSD or Melbourne could trade a token pick (like 90) to get him to his preferred club of choice (like Geelong did with Steven King) Robbo has no currency in the market, due to his age and lack of interest from other clubs.

I agree with you. If Doggies are interested in Miller and maybe Robbo, we could try this package deal. I doubt clubs will be interested in Robbo.

Then which club do you think a ruckman is required? Will this be Collingwood?

For example:
P Johnson > Collingwood
Collingwood (3rd rounder Pick 46/47) > West Coast
West Coast's Seaby > Melbourne

How about this 3 way deal? I'd prefer a ruck change if people think Seaby is better than P Johnson.

"d) Trade to Hawks for 1st rounder with Miller (Pick 8)"

I'm sorry but what would Hawthorn want with 2 players who can barely get games in the worst team in the league?

You'd be lucky to get a third rounder for Miller. Bell isn't worth anything, except very late draft picks that we probably wouldn't use anyway.

Brad Miller
a) Trade to Sydney Swans for 2nd rounder (Pick 25)
Sydney wouldn't go for that, but I'd definately take 25 for Miller.
b) Trade to Doggies for 2nd rounder (Pick 31/32)
If I were the Doggies, I'd trade a higher pick for a much higher quality player.
c) Trade to Hawks for 2nd rounder (Pick 23)
Miller isn't a defender, so Hawks won't go for him.

Paul Johnson
a) Trade to Richmond for 3rd rounder (Pick 38)
Richmond is in rebuilding mode (again) so they wouldn't trade for an unwanted ruckman from the wooden spooners.
c) 3 way deal involving West Coast and other club for Seaby. This applies if people think Seaby is better than Johnson.
West Coast have no reason to take him back. They have Cox and Naitanui anyway.

Simon Buckley
a) Trade for 3rd or 4th rounder (Pick 30's - 40's)
I'd like to keep him as he has some attributes which we need.

Daniel Bell
a) Trade to Adelaide for 2nd rounder (Pick 27/28/29)
b) Trade to Port Adelaide for 2nd rounder (Pick 24/25/26)
c) Trade to Hawks for 2nd rounder (Pick 23)
d) Trade to Hawks for 1st rounder with Miller (Pick 8)
e) Trade to Hawks for 1st rounder with Miller and Pick 18 for Pick 8 and 23 (Is this too much?)
None of those are realistic.

My comments in red.

I might be being slightly fanciful here - but I wonder if we could get our hands on Lewis Thompson from Sydney? I know we were keen on him if the Brad Green trade went through last year.

Given Sydney dont like the idea of 'bottoming out' in a tough market with a new Sydney team in the comp, and need a 'ready to go' forward to replace Hall - and that we are keen for another young forward that we wont get in the draft this year..

Maybe they would be interested in a package involving say Brad Miller (or McLean) plus pick 18 plus the first pick in the pre-season draft?

We are giving away a bit - but would get our hands on the all-australian centre half forward from the 'super draft'.
