As steak knives thrown into the Parker trade I'm perfectly happy with Jacob's year. He's had some good games but probably should of spent more time in the VFL. Needs alot of work on the offensive components of his game but overall i'd say he's met expectations.
If he has met expectations, then our expectations are 'turn up and try'. There is no argument to say he has had even a serviceable year. He has been poor. And he is poor with the ball in hand. That's not an opinion it's evidenced every week by anyone who isn't trying to be delusional about the performances/prospects of our players/team.

If you've been watching North Melbourne for the past 5 years i'm not sure you're giving enough credit to turning up and trying. With that said coming into the year i would have expected him play only a handful of senior games. I think his ability to defend and pressure has added something to the team. He lets the team down with his decision making and execution with ball in hand no doubt. There's obvious question marks on his ability to make as an AFL player. If there wasn't we wouldn't have got a former first round pick as an add on when trading for an ageing veteran. My expectations were low and he's met them.

If we were serious this would be true. He’s a permanent forward but has kicked just three goals in his last 10 games, and none in his past 5. This is unacceptable and should not secure him a spot in the team week after week.

That’s when he can actually find the ball.

Considering how ineffective he is as a small forward I’d love to see him trialled in defence as a small defender.

He has zero goal sense!

I’ve always been fascinated by the choice between ineffective or ineffectual.
Not taking the piss, just musing.

I never expected him to play 20 games after what he's been through with his leg injury and likely low confidence.
No question he needs to get better offensively with his decision making, execution and hit the scoreboard more often.
I think he's tried to be a little bit too unselfish kicking to leading players with difficult kicks, rather than go for goal.
It wouldn't be the worst thing for him to head back to the VFL or perhaps even the sub role.
At some point he'll have a game where he starts to feel like he belongs at the level and gains more confidence in his own ability, but that's likely more next year.
But doesn't mean we can't be on the lookout for another small fwd with some more tricks perhaps in the next few drafts.

The coaches obviously think he’s doing his role.. ****ed if I know what that is.. bugger all tackles, no goals and average pressure applied? I wonder why he gets games? Im dumbfounded

How so? They both describe a lack of success in producing the desired outcome and the Oxford dictionary cited J. Konstanty 2025 season as an example
My two cents is it says a lot about the individual.

'Ineffective' users: strong, stern, results focused. No time for fluff.

'ineffectual' users: artsy, appreciate the finer things in life, anti-utilitarian. Has a mystical quantity to their lack of effect.

He sees former top 20? draft pick not getting a gig. He must be good. He asks Sydney who say 'here have him for free with Parker, he's a gun'..
He feels reassured that they wouldn't give him away for nothing with zero ****s given if he wasn't a certified gun..
Doesn't feel the need to review the impact he was having playing against farmers and labourers for the Swans reserves side.. the vibe was good.
Konstanty was small, skinny with terrible foot skills - just how Rawlings like them.
Great get.
Nostra also lives a top 20 draftee - have we seen Brady and Nostra in the same room.

The fact we have fans on here arguing for a small forward who is below average in every metric (not even sure he'd be above average in the one thing out of 20 he was before) isn't scoring goals, has a poor conversion rate, wastes the ball when he gets it and can't find the ball to begin with shows how low (and comical) the standards at this club are.

come on mate. i can almost guarantee you 99 percent of people on here have nothing to do with the club except there support, we just voice our opinion. us voicing our opinion on here about a 20 year old small forward who’s played 21 games has nothing to do with where the club is at the moment.

Mate he is a developing small forward, who is playing in one of the worst inside 50’s team in the comp. Have to be realistic on what you expect from him.

At stages he has shown he can dispose of the footy pretty well and provide high level defensive pressure. Does he need to show more composure? Absolutely. Does he need to develop his ability to accumulate? Yep.

None of that is uncommon with a defensive forward playing one of the hardest position on the ground.

I don’t think he’ll end up being an elite game breaker, but we already have those types with Zurhaar and Curtis. We need a player in our forward half who can lock down on the best half backs while providing a tonne of defensive pressure.

The bolded is simply not true. He regularly wastes it and often under no pressure.
He also isn't applying a ton of defensive pressure.

Fair. I think his defensive pressure of 3 tackles per game, not sure on pressure acts and workrate has probably kept him in.
You could argue Cooper should have come in earlier, but he's hardly tackled, but better offensively.
Only really Geordie would bring the same pressure and potentially more goals, but he's been up and down scoring wise.

Jacob probably sticks to his task if he's playing a negating role on a half back as well.
Could also be the coach is trying to back him in and give him confidence after it was shattered a bit at the Swans.
Sometimes coaches back someone in who is just going okay, like Dimma with Bailey Humphrey in year two who was pretty average honestly, but he still played 21 games as he was seen as part of the future.
9 disposals, 1.7 marks, 3 tackles and 0.5 goals per game is not setting the world on fire, but it's tough with the amount of inside 50's we have, not really getting the supply.
I think he tries to be too unselfish by hitting up targets that aren't all that easy to hit on leads and he was well within his rights to have a ping at the goals. But recently I think there'd be some fatigue setting in, so a rest might be needed.

Yeah probably needs to spend a good length of time in the VFL. Needs a spell, but dunno he must be delivering what is asked of him.
If that were the case doesn’t that only highlight why we’re the worst side in modern history?

He is a horrible footballer with next to no ability.
